Man United 13/8 to Bale Gareth out on the back of Mourinho comments

Jose couldn’t help himself when the topic of the Real Madrid superstar came up today…

You might be wrong if you thought you’d seen the last mega-transfer of this window with Neymar’s escape to Barcelona. Well, if Jose Mourinho’s comments today are to be believed.

That because the United boss has dropped the biggest hint yet that former Tottenham winger Gareth Bale could be on his way to Old Trafford.

Speaking ahead of the UEFA Super Cup final this afternoon Mourinho was asked about the possibility of signing the Wales talisman and he surprisingly confirmed that the Red Devils are waiting to pounce if Bale comes on the market.

“If he’s not in the club’s plans, I will be waiting to fight with other coaches that would want him on their team,” the Portuguese coach said of Bale. “We’ll try to wait for him on the other side.”

Our traders reacted to whispers of the move yesterday, slashing Bales price from 21/10 to 13/8 and as the rumours gather pace, don’t be surprised to see his odds tumble some more.

Despite splashing the cash on a then record move for Paul Pogba last season, Jose has seemed tighter than Norris from Coronation Street when it comes to his comments on the market this summer.

That might all change though if he can persuade Madrid to let Bale go, so he may be dusting off the old wallet yet.
