FA Cup Final Infographic: Double trouble for Antonio Conte

Double trouble for Conte

It’s time for the FA Cup final. It’s the last game of the English season before we all start watching box-sets, and trying to decide what bit of DIY to do first over the summer.

With the Premier League already in the bag, Antonio Conte is hungry to double up in his maiden voyage in England. Arsene Wenger, hold on to your hat.

Record Breakers

For the Frenchman who has come under more scrutiny than a price increase on Freddo chocolate bars, this could be his seventh FA Cup win. That’ll make him the most successful manager in English football history in this competition, and could mark Arsenal’s third FA Cup victory in four years.

In plenty of other seasons, in many other circumstances, you’d think the Gunners would be a cert to lift the trophy. But not this time, Chelsea are the 3/4 favourites to win the game in
90 minutes. Arsenal are a hefty 7/2 to outsmart the Blues.

Conte’s side lost just five of their 38 league games, one of those at the hands of Wenger. They scored approximately 2.25 goals per game across the season, while Arsenal conceded 11 more goals than their London rivals.

Chelsea to win and over 2.5 goals is priced at 17/10. With three goals or more happening in 68 per cent of their league games, it seems like a decent bet. Diego Costa has netted three goals in six FA Cup appearances, and he could leave England with a final parting gift. It’s 6/4 for him to score and the Blues to do the business within 90 minutes.

That being said, it would be very ‘Arsenal’ for the Gunners to secure the trophy and Wenger to cling on to his job once again. It’s 13/2 for them to win and both teams to find the net tomorrow.
