Infographic: Will Jose Mourinho complete Manchester United’s trophy cabinet?

Tonight’s game against Ajax is not only Manchester United’s biggest of the season, but of the last few years. It gives them an opportunity to win the only trophy leaving a whole in their cabinet, and it’s a route into the Champions League.

It’s arguably one of the most monumental games of Jose Mourinho’s career, too. At the moment, there are still plenty of doubters who think he is ‘past it’, yet he could become the first ever manager to win not one, but two titles in his first season with the Red Devils.

Though if you look into the history books, United fans can be assured. The Special One didn’t get his name from nowhere, and his record in finals is nothing short of incredible. He has lost just two finals out of the 13 he has been involved in.

His first final with Porto saw him lift this very trophy, after defeating Celtic 3-2. He went on to win three out of four finals with the club, including the Champions League. With Chelsea, he won all four for the Blues.

Now, he takes on Ajax. A team the Portugese gaffer has met five times, and won all five. It makes for good reading if you’re a red right now.

In what has been a devastating week for the city of Manchester, here’s to hoping he can make is 14th final another success.
