What is in the water in Dublin? That’s what we’ve been wondering in Power Tower today as another punter from the banks of the Liffey plundered over €20k last night.
It comes after a first away win in nine Premier League games for Sam Allardyce’s Crystal Palace helped land a different customer from Ireland’s capital over €132k on two accas as well on Tuesday night.
This bet however, also needed its share of fortune along the way as our winner landed €20,546 from just a €25 stake.
His €20k winning acca
As you can see from his betslip above, the Dubliner selected seven games from England, Scotland, the French and Belgian cups with an added sprinkle of club friendlies to boot.
He would have been sweating right down to the wire though, as he needed a controversial 87th minute winner from Burnley’s Sam Vokes to net the final leg win over Leicester he required to bring in the whopping wager.
The Welsh striker appeared to have controlled the ball with his arm before netting from close range in last night’s 1-0 home success for The Clarets – not that our punter will mind one bit.
His luck didn’t stop there, as he also needed:
- An 81st minute penalty from Football Manager legend Sebastien Corchia for Lille to beat Nantes 1-0
- A late fightback from Austrian lower league outfit ASK Mannersdorf, who came from 2-1 down to win 3-2 at Wienerberg (don’t laugh) with goals in the 76th and 79th minute
- KV Oostende, Motherwell and Le Mont Sur Lausanne all to hold on to slender single goal leads
So that’s over €150k gone from our Cheltenham party coffers in one night, we’ll be lucky to get a bloody cocktail sausage at this point!
