Watch: Guam footballer gets a booking for daring marriage proposal

We’ve never been a fan of players getting booked for their celebrations, it adds to the entertainment of the game.

The usual footballing trope is to simply whip off the jersey, do a manly growl and wait for your team mates to join you in the celebrations. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, the player is carrying a message on his undershirt.

Ashton Surber, a player in the Guam Premier League, has taken this theme to the next level. After scoring an acrobatic volley Surber, of NAPA Rovers, took off his jersey to reveal the words ‘Marry Me? Which were emblazoned on his undershirt. The romantic scamp.

The good news is his girlfriend, who was in the crowd said yes. The not so good news was that Surber received a yellow card for his troubles.
