Christmas can be a time of excess, but we can never get enough of the football here at Paddy Power and the festive season has given us an early present with another round of Premier League this mid-week.
The players seem to be in the spirit of giving to the fans also, as the fans of England’s top league were treated to an amazing total of 36 goals across the ten Premier League fixtures last weekend. Tuesday’s games are a little taster to whet the appetite for what’s to come and we’ve got two terrific fixtures with plenty on the line.
Champions Leicester march their wise men south to Bournemouth, while Arsene Wenger will be using his bright red nose to lead his Gunners outfit to Merseyside for a meeting with Everton.
Enough Christmas shenanigans lets unwrap our double which could deliver at over 14/1 for you…
After failing to win yet again at the weekend against Watford, Ronald Koeman is in danger of falling on the scrapheap just like the Bountys left abandoned in a box of Celebrations if he’s not careful.
That’s five league games in-a-row without a victory for the Toffees, and they’ve come unstuck in three of those five as well. Worry times if you’re a fan of the Goodison Park outfit.
For Arsenal fans – despite drawing Bayern again in the Champions League – Arsene Wenger’s outfit have been the gift that keeps on giving recently in the Premier League. They’ve won five of their last six outings, and are a mere three points from the league’s summit.
We just can’t see the home side improving their Grinch-like form, but the Gunners have been misfiring in defence. So we’re still going with Arsenal to win with both teams scoring at . Don’t forget if you bet £20 on team to win here, you get £5 on top of that for every time they hit the back of the net as well. You Beauty!
You’d have to fancy it as the men from North London have conceded in their last 10 games in-a-row, coupled with the fact that Everton have notched at least one in every home fixture this season. So that’s enough for us to fill our stocking.
Claudio Ranieri was sitting on top of the tree at Christmas last season, how things have changed for his Foxes outfit.
Magnificent win over Man City at the weekend aside, Leicester have only managed half of the 32 points that had them ruling the roost at this stage last season. Even more aggravating for Ranieri is that of the 16 points they’ve amassed this campaign, only one of those has come away from the King Power Stadium.
Their hosts Bournemouth have a similar issue with 13 of their 18 precious points coming in the Vitality Stadium – you see where we are going with this. Yes, a Bournemouth home win!
However, neither defence is water tight either! Eddie Howe’s men only have three clean sheets in the league so far and Leicester have conceded in every away league game this campaign to boot.
So, that leads us to add Bournemouth winning with both clubs finding Santa’s sack to our wish list at to close out our double at just over 14/1.
