Second take on forth in the Championship tonight in front of the Sky cameras, and we are expecting a little bit of an upset. Leeds recent form is impressive having ended Steve Bruce’s unbeaten run as Villa manager last Saturday with a convincing win, as well as good displays against Newcastle and Liverpool.
They were unlucky not to take anything from the Newcastle game, given they dominated possession and had the better of the chances, but just couldn’t recover from Rob Green’s early error. Garry Monk’s side have performed well on the road, winning their last three away games in the league including a 3-2 triumph against fellow promotion hopefuls Norwich.
They look a big price for the win at 10/3 tonight and with Chris Wood leading the line three points looks a possibility. The giant kiwi has scored 13 so far this season and his height makes him a constant threat. He’s 6/1 to notch the first goal of the game and 11/10 to score anytime.
Brighton’s home record is strong and a Leeds win would be their first loss at home since September, however Leeds will be the first team The Seagulls have faced who 6th place or higher in the league. Chris Hughton will be disappointed with his attacking charges after failing to score against lowly Cardiff last Saturday on a weekend where league leaders Newcastle failed to win.
17/20 Brighton can hit the Championship summit, ahead of Newcastle, with a win but will have their work cut out against a well organised Leeds backline. For those not fully confident of a United win the Double chance is 10/11.
At this stage of the season a win would be a huge confidence booster for both sides, the Amex could be about to play host to a classic.
