Here at Paddy Power we like to scour the globe sometimes to bring you the best football the world has to offer.
The action in the Chilean Primera Division can get as hot as Jose Mourinho after a Paul Pogba diving booking sometimes, but last night’s game between Universidad de Concepción and O’Higgins featured one of the goals of the year.
As O’Higgins (not your drunk uncle) were in search of an equaliser, they fell victim to a wonder-volley from Universidad’s Alejandro Camargo from INSIDE his own half.
Trailing 2-1 as the clock ticked into the fifth minute of added on time, O’Higgins goalkeeper Miguel Angel Pinto desperately launched a deep kick from his just outside his box into the Universidad side of the field.
However, seeing his opportunity Camargo smashed a beautiful volley from just inside the centre circle and it flew into the O’Higgins net without ever touching the ground to seal a 3-1 victory for Universidad.
We thought South African goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke had the goal of the year competition wrapped up last week. Well – he’s got one heck of a challenger here.
