There isn’t a better moment in football for the neutral, then seeing a keeper amble forward in the dying embers of added time in search of an equaliser from a set piece.
The sense of tension is palpable. You know something beautiful or a total disaster could unfold in front of your eyes and that’s the game at its finest.
Over in the South African Premier Division last night you not only got one of those rare moments where the keeper manages to grab a goal, but he also somehow notched a stunning bicycle kick from the edge of the area that would make Wayne Rooney eat his bloody heart out.
As time elapsed on the five added minutes Baroka sent their goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke forward while trailing 1-0 at home to the Orlando Pirates.
After the corner was swung in, Masuluke chased a headed clearance to the edge of the box and it was there he launched into a bicycle kick that flew into the top corner of the Pirates goal.
The strike sparked wild scene of celebration and it has to be considered one of the goals of the year.
