Fenerbache striker Robin Van Persie was taken to hospital yesterday after suffering a bloody injury to his eye.
Van Persie was stretchered off in his club’s 3-1 away success over Akhisar Belediyespor after a collision with an opposition defender left him with a torn eyelid.
TV pictures of the incident show blood coming from the former Manchester United man’s eye as he is being treated on the pitch.
He can then be seen waiting in the tunnel area to be taken away in an ambulance. Check out the incident below:
Thankfully for van Persie the club doctor has confirmed he is in good “condition” as he recovers from the injury.
“He received a blow to the eye, suffered a torn eyelid and bleeding,” said the doctor.
“After the investigations we learned that nothing important happened. His condition is good.”
The striker has since tweeted to confirm that his eye is not damaged and thanked medical staff for treating his injury.
