The international break is over. England were a let-down, Germany were outstanding, and Ireland picked up a customary point. In other news, grass is still green and water is still wet.
But, that international break gave everybody plenty of time to study for the fourth week of Paddy Power’s Hotshot Jackpot.
There’s a whopping £325k up for grabs after Zlatan and Aguero caused plenty of heartache for punters last time around. Thankfully, they won’t be able to let you down this week. Saturday’s Manchester Derby does not feature in this week’s fixture line-up.
ARSENAL V SOUTHAMPTON: MESUT OZIL
Ozil made his first start of the season in Arsenal’s last game against Watford. His impact was instant, livening up The Gunners’ attack and pocketing a goal in the process. He also assisted international teammate Thomas Muller in their 3-0 win over Norway on Sunday, so we’re backing him to get us off to a flyer!
BOURNEMOUTH V WEST BROM: CALLUM WILSON
A serious knee injury meant Callum Wilson played just seven matches last season, but he still finished as Bournemouth’s joint-second top goal scorer. Despite a difficult start for The Cherries, we are hoping he will get a goal and help Eddie Howe’s lads rise up the table.
STOKE V TOTTENHAM: DELE ALLI
Spurs have won 3 of their last 5 visits to Stoke, who haven’t won a game yet this season and sit at the bottom of the table. Dele Alli looked one of England’s best (only) attacking threats when he came on versus Serbia, and with 10 goals last season we think he could be the man to bag one this week.
MIDDLESBROUGH V CRYSTAL PALACE: CRISTHIAN STUANI
Stuani kick-started his Premier League account this season with two goals in the Tees-Wear derby. We reckon the ruthless Uruguayan has the minerals to blast one past struggling Palace and get us that step closer to the big money!
WEST HAM V WATFORD: DIMITRI PAYET
The Frenchman is set to return to action for The Hammers this Saturday, much to the delight of Slaven Bilic and hopefully Hotshot punters. Named in the Euro 2016 team of the tournament and joint second top-scorer in France, we think he will make an instant impact and find the back of the net with the ease and class that we saw last year. We can almost sense the Watford fans begin to shake as he steps up to take a free kick!
LIVERPOOL V LEICESTER: JAMIE VARDY
Vardy didn’t get on the pitch in England’s friendly on Sunday, leaving fans frustrated. On the other hand, we were pleased. We want him fresh to bag a goal at Anfield this weekend and help us on our way to £325k. With 25 league goals under his belt from last season, we are confident he will come up with the goods. WKD’s on us!
SWANSEA V CHELSEA: DIEGO COSTA
Chelsea are firm favourites to resume their unbeaten streak at Swansea on Sunday. With two goals already this season and two goals midweek for his country, we are going with one of the Premier League’s angriest men – Diego Costa – to find the back of the net and keep our Jackpot hopes alive in the penultimate leg!
SUNDERLAND V EVERTON: ROMELU LUKAKU
After bagging a brace for Belgium midweek, it must only be a matter of time until The Tank can hit the target for Everton, and we believe he will do just that this weekend as he pays a visit to former manager David Moyes.
