Making a Messi of things
Barcelona's struggles have opened the door for Real and Atletico
After going 38 games unbeaten in all competitions Barcelona looked liked they had the La Liga title in the bag and were on course for a sixth Champions League/European Cup success. Then those swines in Madrid came along and ruined everything.
A 2-1 home defeat in El Clasico was the first of three loses in four games. The last of which saw them knocked out of the Champions League by Atletico Madrid, despite holding a one goal lead from the first leg. While Real Madrid bounced back from a first leg loss to beat Wolfsburg 3-0 at home to progress to the semi-finals.
They still lead La Liga but one point from their last nine has the Catalan side’s lead cut from eight points to just three points in the space of three games. With six games to go Barcelona need to beat Valencia this weekend because both Madrid sides are set to win according to our man in the know Graham Hunter.
