You know we’re in trouble when Love Island is the best thing on TV every night. So, by way of an alternative, we’ve gone digging for a bit of footy action. Now, with Europe taking a break, we’re all eyes on the South American action. We’ve got games in the Argentinian and Paraguayan Primera Divisions to get stuck into here.

11pm: Aldosivi v CA Platense – CA Platense to Win

First up, we’re in Argentina for Aldosivi v CA Platense, which sees second travel to bottom in the Primera Division. Mind you, just be aware that there has only been three or four games so far this season, so the form is very much in its infancy.

Platense have won two and drawn one of their opening three games, while Aldosivi are rock bottom having lost three out of three and scoring just once in the process.

It looks like Aldosivi will struggle this season and we like the look of CA Platense to Win to pile more misery on the home side.

11:30pm: Cerro Porteno v General Caballero – Cerro Porteno -1

Now we’re jetting off to Paraguay for the Primera Division showdown between Cerro Porteno and General Caballero. The form is more valuable this time, however, with all teams playing 19 games so far this season.

Cerro Porteno are currently second in the league, just four points off top. They’ve lost just three games all season and they’ve won their last three. Their home form is also decent having won seven of their nine fixtures.

General Caballero, meanwhile, are tenth (out of 12) and look there for the taking. They’ve won just four times all season and their away record is far from solid too, winning three of their nine matches on the road.

Cerro Porteno will likely run out winners but we’re going with Cerro Porteno -1 on the Handicap to boost the odds.

11:30pm: Sol de America v Libertad – Libertad to Win

We mentioned that Cerro Porteno are second in the Paraguayan Primera Division. Well, they’re chasing Libertad, who have won 15 of their 19 games and have lost just once this season. Libertad’s sole defeat actually came at Cerro Porteno back in April.

Libertad, who have former Premier League striker Roque Santa Cruz leading the line up front, boast a four point lead at the top of the table and they travel to the seventh placed Sol de America. The hosts are a relatively stubborn team and they’re unbeaten in their last four after drawing three on the spin.

The away side know how important the win would be to keep their distance ahead of Cerro Porteno. We’re not too confident about them covering the -1 Handicap so we’ll just back Libertad to Win.
