Tuesday night’s Nations League fixtures promises a night packed with action. Ukraine host Ireland in Poland after beating them 1-0 in Dublin last week. The Ukrainians were comfortable 3-0 winners against Armenia over the weekend, while Ireland dismissed Scotland 3-0. In Group 4 of League A Poland will be looking to avenge their 6-1 away loss to Belgium just over a week ago.

NEW TO PADDY POWER NEWS?

In the same group, Wales are bottom of the pile and face a Dutch side who have gone 14 games undefeated on home soil. In Group 3 both Germany and Italy have underwhelmed but both can take top spot going into the final two games with a win. First up though, England will be eager to set the record straight against Hungary after losing the reverse fixture 1-0 at the start of the month. Goals should be on the menu here so we’re looking at the Both Teams to Score markets for this one…

England vs Hungary: BTTS (Yes)

7.45pm, Channel 4

A 1-1 draw with Germany and a 0-0 at home to Italy is nothing to be down-crested about, particularly as Germany were the better side and Italy put on a stellar defensive performance. However, there’s something not clicking with England at the moment and a win here will put some minds at ease. Hungary have been tough though, winning one, drawing one and losing one so far.

England have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five fixtures while at home have won three and drawn two. The visitors have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five games while on the road have won two, drawn one and lost two. The travelling side have scored in four of their last five fixtures and four of their last five away from home while Gareth Southgate’s Lions have kept two clean sheets over their last five and in three of their last five at home. Hungary’s strong goal-scoring record means the odds for Both Teams to Score here are too good to be scoffed at.

Germany vs Italy: BTTS (Yes)

7.45pm, Premier Sports 1

Like England, there’s something not quite fitting into place for Hansi Flick’s Germany side. They’re good but they’re missing an element of creativity that unlocks teams. Italy have shown flashes of brilliance but are a bit inconsistent while they continue to find their feet with the new players that are being bedded into the side. Die Mannschaft have won one and drawn four of their last five, with BTTS landing in four of them while the Italians have won two, drawn two and lost one. Away from home the Azzurri have won two and drawn three while the Germans have won four and drawn one over their five most recent home games.

Normally Germany would get the nod here but as is evident over recent fixtures they’re failing to finish off teams and Italy have only lost once over their last five visits to Germany. This one has BTTS written all over it.

Netherlands vs Wales: BTTS (Yes)

7.45pm,  S4C & BoxNation

Netherlands have won three and drawn two of their last five fixtures with Both Teams to Score landing in all five. On Dutch soil, Oranje have also won three and drawn two with BTTS occurring in three. Wales have been poor over their Nations League games so far, there’s plenty of spirit in the side but just not quite enough quality. The Welsh have won just one of their last five matches, drawing two and losing two while on their away jaunts have won two, drawn two and lost one with BTTS landing in three.

This really comes down to whether Wales will score, they’ve netted seven over their last five on the road and five over their last five. The Dutch have conceded in four of their last six at home and six of their last seven overall fixtures. With those stats and both in good goal-scoring form; BTTS looks a good shout here.

Poland vs Belgium: BTTS (Yes)

7.45pm, Premier Sports Extra

The big news for this one is that Poland’s captain Robert Lewandowski will return to the starting XI after missing out on the 2-2 draw away to Netherlands. Poland’s form has seen them win two, draw two and lose one of their last five with BTTS landing in four of those fixtures. On home soil, Bialo-Czerwoni have won three, drawn one and lost one scoring 12 and conceding four.

Belgium are such a frustrating side of late, they can be outrageously good at times but really disappointing in subsequent games. Of their last five the Belgians have won two, drawn two and lost one with BTTS landing in four and have won one, drawn three and lost one of their last five on their travels with BTTS landing in four of those fixtures. It’s hard to see Poland keeping a Clean Sheet here and Belgium rarely do on the road so the smart money is going on BTTS occurring here.

Ukraine vs Ireland: BTTS (Yes)

7.45pm, Premier Sports 2

Ukraine’s second string side were 0-1 winners of the reverse fixture in Dublin last Wednesday and since then were comfortable 3-0 winners against Armenia in Lodz. Manchester City’s Oleksandr Zinchenko returned to the Starting XI for that game and West Ham’s Andriy Yarmolenko should be in the starting lineup here too. Ireland looked toothless over their Nations League games up to and including the Ukraine game after what had been a fruitful period for Stephen Kenny’s Boys in Green. Against Scotland on Saturday evening though they were far better and put three past the Scots to take the three points.

Ukraine have won four of their last five, losing the other one and while this isn’t a ‘home’ game the stadium should be fairly full of Ukrainians now calling Poland their temporary home and tickets have been kept at a low price to get the crowd in too. Their home games have seen them winning just one, drawing three and losing one with BTTS landing in three and landing in two of their last five overall fixtures.

Ireland have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five with BTTS occurring in just one and on their travels have won two, drawn one and lost two. Ireland’s confidence will be sky high after their win over Scotland and they’ll be looking to build on that and with Ukraine conceding in three of their last five we’re going with BTTS coming in for us here.
