Northern Ireland will cap off a disappointing few days on Sunday with a home match against Cyprus, with Ian Baraclough’s side looking for their first win in their Nations League group. Northern Ireland have lost against Greece and Kosovo and their only point came in Cyprus.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
Cyprus are also looking for their first win so Northern Ireland will be hopeful of picking up three points on Sunday. Here’s our three best bets!
Under 2.5 Goals
It’s hard to see many goals in this one. Northern Ireland have scored just two goals in three games and they’re not exactly known for blowing teams away. Their 3-2 defeat in Kosovo last week was a bit of an anomaly. Cyprus are yet to score in the Nations League this summer and they’ve conceded five goals in the process. Under 2.5 Goals makes a lot of sense!
Northern Ireland to Win and Under 2.5 Goals
We’ve already mentioned that this could be a quiet game on the goals front so why not chuck in Northern Ireland to Win? Baraclough will be desperate to make sure his defence is more solid, especially in front of their home crowd. It’s a fixture Northern Ireland should win with Cyprus unlikely to cause many problems, so we’re backing a home victory and Under 2.5 Goals.
Northern Ireland to Win 1-0
When you add the top two selections together we see it adding up to Northern Ireland winning 1-0. It could likely be a scrappy game decided by a set piece or a costly mistake from one of the Cyprus defenders. The home crowd will be urging their side to attack and play forward as much as possible.
