Saturday night’s Nations League games promise an action-packed set of fixtures. England host Italy at Molineux in a re-run of the Euro 2020 final and will be out for revenge after losing that match on penalties. In the same group, Hungary host Germany in Budapest. The away side have drawn both of their games so far and will be eager to get three points on the board here.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Elsewhere in League A, the Netherlands, who have won both of their games so far, host Poland who took a 6-1 hiding from Belgium on Wednesday night. And finally, Wales, who have won none of their Nations League games so far face the might of Belgium at the Cardiff City Stadium. Let’s get stuck in then and find some value bets.

19:45 England v Italy: Both Teams To Score

TV: Channel 4

A late penalty saw England salvage a point away to Germany in Munich on Tuesday night. The Three Lions were second best on the night though and, until the late introduction of Jack Grealish, were bereft of ideas going forward. Surely, Grealish has to start here on the back of that performance.

The hosts are bottom of the pile in Group 3 with just a point and must get something positive here. They’ve won three of their last five fixtures, drawing one and losing one but their form on English soil has been very good, winning seven of their last 10, drawing three (winning one in Extra Time), scoring 21 and conceding just three.

Italy have won two of their last five games, drawing one and losing two but their away from is quite good having not lost in their last 16 on the road. Like England, they’ve won seven of their last 10 away, drawing the other three, scoring a total of 15 and conceding just three.

The home side are odds-on favourites here but Italy’s scoring record and defensive prowess will mean it’s going to be a slog over the 90 minutes. England’s scoring record is good and with the added factor of revenge on the menu here they’ll be eager to take the three points. Two-evenly matched sides then and while both are good enough to beat the other we could see a draw. The best bet here is Both Teams to Score, especially with their respective goal-scoring records.

19:45 Hungary vs Germany: Under 2.5 Goals

TV: Premier Sports 2

Hungary won’t fear Germany coming to town here. The hosts have won three of their last five fixtures, losing the other two and share the same record on home soil, scoring seven and conceding three. Germany have now gone 11 games undefeated but have drawn all three of their most recent fixtures 1-1 and they really should have won all three of those games.

There’s some spark of creativity missing from this German side that manager Hansi Flick is yet to find. Their record has been very good against the ‘weaker’ sides but against better opposition they’ve been finding them very difficult to break down. Hungary’s defence is pretty solid, conceding just three goals over their last five matches played at home so Germany will face a stern test here.

The market is backing Over 2.5 goals here but Overs has only been seen in two of Hungary’s last five fixtures and in just one of Die Mannschaft’s last five. Based on recent results, we see Hungary frustrating Germany for much of this match so we’re going against the crowd here and taking the value on Under 2.5 Goals at Evens.

19:45 Netherlands vs Poland: Netherlands to Win & Both Teams to Score

TV: Box Nation

Poland were on the wrong side of a 6-1 defeat away to Belgium on Wednesday night after opening their Nations League account with a 2-1 home win over Wales. Netherlands put four past Belgium in their opening Group 4 game and beat Wales 1-2 on Wednesday last. The Dutch have won four and drawn one over their last five matches, sharing the same record on home turf, scoring 19 and conceding four.

The visitors have won two of their last five fixtures, drawing one and losing two while their away record has seen them winning three, drawing one and losing one, scoring 14 (11 of which were against San Marino and Andorra so make of that what you will) and conceding nine.

The Dutch should take the three points here. Poland have plenty of grit and heart in this squad of players but they just don’t have the quality of this Dutch side under the stewardship of Louis van Gaal. However, Both Teams to Score has landed in five of the host’s last six matches so we see Poland drawing some blood here. Netherlands to Win & BTTS has the value for this one.

19:45 Wales vs Belgium: Belgium to Win

TV: Premier Sports 1/ S4C

Wales’ victory over Ukraine to book their place at this year’s World Cup was sandwiched between two Nations League losses to Poland and the Netherlands. The Welsh have won two of their last five fixtures, drawing one and losing two but their home form is a bit better with two wins, two draws and a loss, scoring six and conceding five.

Belgium began their Nations League by losing 1-4 to the Dutch and then smashing Poland 6-1 on Wednesday night. The Belgians have won two of their last five games, drawing two and losing one and have won two of their last five on the road, drawing two and losing one, scoring 10 and conceding seven. There’s little doubt the visiting side have the better squad here and their superior goal stats should make all the difference over the 90 minutes. Belgium to Win has the value here.
