The battle for the various European spots comes down the wire on Sunday with round 38 of the 2021/22 Premier League season. There’s Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League spots up for grabs.
Tottenham surely secured their place in next season’s Champions League by following up their 3-0 win over bitter rivals Arsenal with a narrow 1-0 triumph over Burnley at the weekend. They’re in 4th and have a two-point lead over The Gunners in 5th with a better goal difference and just a trip to rock-bottom Norwich to come.

Arsenal have to beat Everton and then hope for a miracle at Carrow Road if they’re to leapfrog Spurs. Below The Gunners there’s still the matter of who’s dropping out of the Europa League and into the Conference League with Manchester United in 6th and West Ham in 7th our two contenders.
The Hammers are two points behind United but have a superior goal difference and will go above them if they win and Ralf Rangnick’s rabble fail to do so. The Red Devils head to Crystal Palace and West Ham are off to The Amex to tackle Brighton. There’s a lot to sort out so here’s some punts to ponder in the race for the European places on Sunday at 4pm.

Norwich v Spurs – Kane to Score 2 or More Goals
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, surely Tottenham can’t cock this up? They only need a draw against a Norwich side who have taken 12 points at home all season to make it into next season’s Champions League.
I think they’re going to hammer Norwich and should run up a hefty score as they run riot against a relegated team with nothing to play for who want nothing more than to not have to play this game. One man who’s going to be relishing this is Harry Kane (providing he gets over a spot of illness). He’ll be looking to sign off in style ahead of another summer of will he, won’t he?
He’s back in form and has scored four in his last four. He’ll probably get at least one from the spot if he doesn’t offer it up to Son Heung-min who is chasing the Golden Boot, so I don’t think we’re asking too much for Kane to Score 2 or More Goals against Norwich.
Arsenal v Everton – Everton and Draw
Arsenal have gone full ‘Arsey’ towards the end of the season, losing their last two to scupper their chances of Champions League and almost-certainly condemn themselves to Europa League football next term.
Few clubs do crisis quite like The Gunners these days and I think there’s a decent chance they round off the season in disgrace amid much wailing from the Arsenal Twitter army. They are huge favourites to win here but when they lose their heads, they really lose them.
I think it might be worth having a go on the Everton Win/Draw Double Chance. Everton secured their top-flight safety in dramatic fashion on Thursday night and, with the pressure off and in high spirits, they could come out and make the most of the frustration around The Emirates as reports of ever-increasing Spurs score filters through the crowd.
Crystal Palace v Man Utd – A Penalty Scored? Yes
Crystal Palace’s season effectively ended at full time in their 2-0 FA Cup semi final defeat to Chelsea back in April. It’s hard to tell when United definitively gave up as they’ve plumbed many depths this season, but they’ve been having a nice time saying goodbye to lots of average ageing players and come into this on the back of a 4-0 battering at Brighton.
I was tempted to go with Palace to get some kind a result here but instead I’ll bank on some calamitous defending from either outfit. Both sides have potent attacking weapons and players who know when and how to go down to maximum effect.
There’s also been recent penalties with United having and scoring one two games back and Palace doing the same three games ago. The combination of skillful attacking players, poor defending and excellent takers means this A Penalty To Be Scored punt could be very shrewd if I do say so myself.
Brighton v West Ham – Bowen to Score Anytime
We finish with 7th-placed West Ham’s trip to Brighton. I think they’ve got a really good chance of condemning The Red Devils to the Conference League but they’ll face a Seagulls side in good form.
Jarrod Bowen showed how lethal he can be against a possession-hungry side who like to employ a high line, scoring a brace last time out against Manchester City. I suspect that Brighton will come out to play with abandon in their final home game of the season and that might mean they push a little further forward than they should against a really good counter-attacking team.
He’s in good form and, with calls for Bowen to receive an England call up growing, he’ll want to make a mark one last time before the upcoming international fixtures over the summer. He’s got three in three Premier League games and I fancy him to get a gilt-edged chance here. You have to back him to put it away given the form he’s in and I really like the value on Bowen to Score Anytime.
