The late Premier League kick-off on Saturday sees Antonio Conte’s Spurs make the short trip across the capital to take on Brentford. You never really know what you’re going to get with this Spurs side, do you?
They appeared to have finally taken control of the race for fourth before their defeat at home to Brighton last weekend left things very much up in the air once more.
Another slip up could spell serious problems after Arsenal’s win at Chelsea in midweek.
They take on one of the league’s in-form sides in Brentford, however, and will no doubt be met with a rocking Saturday evening atmosphere. This is our four-leg Bet Builder for Brentford v Spurs.
Spurs had won four games on the bounce prior to that Brighton defeat, scoring 14 goals in the process to seemingly put one foot in next season’s Champions League. They come up against a Brentford side that have found form at just the right time beating three London sides in their last three games.
The Bees appeared to be drifting dangerously close to the relegation zone last month before a vital 3-1 win at Norwich in mid-March. They have since won five of six league games to put any thoughts of a relegation dogfight to bed.
Only Liverpool have taken more points than Thomas Frank’s side over the last six games and Tottenham will face a real battle if they are to come away with three points on Saturday evening. Their Champions League aspirations may suffer a further setback.
Tottenham have won their last two away games without conceding a goal, but they have only managed four shutouts in their last 18 games in all competitions. They will struggle to improve that record against a Brentford side that has scored an impressive 14 goals in their last six.
Brentford, on the other hand, have kept two clean sheets in their last eight games and have managed just one clean sheet in 10 games against the traditional Big Six. There should be goals on Saturday night.
Dejan Kulusevski’s has been a revelation since signing for Spurs in January. The Swedish forward has registered three goals and six assists in 10 league starts since arriving in London, with his most effective performances coming away from home.
Kulusevski has scored three and assisted three in five away league appearances for Spurs, causing problems against virtually every side he has come up against. He is good value to continue his excellent away form against Brentford on Saturday night.
Ivan Toney has played a significant role in ensuring that Brentford have never really come close to the bottom three in their debut Premier League season. His 12 goals this season have directly contributed to 11 points, giving Brentford a comfortable cushion over the relegation zone.
Furthermore, no Brentford player has even scored half of Toney’s league tally this season, highlighting just how crucial his goals have been. Toney scored five goals in back-to-back wins against Norwich and Burnley in March and sealed Brentford’s win over West Ham two weeks ago, leaving him on six goals in his last six games.
He is by far the most likely Brentford player to find the back of the net on Saturday.
