Tottenham can take a giant stride towards securing Champions League football for next season if they can succeed where Arsenal failed and beat Brighton at home.

Since losing to Manchester United in mid-March, Spurs have won four games in a row, including a win at Brighton, to pull three points clear of Arsenal in the race for fourth, albeit having played a game more.

A win on Saturday would place significant pressure on their North London rivals, who play both Chelsea and Manchester United next week.

Brighton, on the other hand, recorded their first win in two months when they shocked Arsenal last weekend.

Tottenham (-1)

Graham Potter’s side had taken just one point from their previous seven games prior to their shock win at the Emirates with their season seemigly drifting to a disappointing conclusion. However, they are unlikely to make it two North London scalps out of two on Saturday afternoon against a ruthlessly efficient Tottenham side.

(-1)

Spurs have scored 12 goals from their last 16 shots on target and simply cannot stop scoring at the moment. Anything other than a comfortable Spurs victory would be surprising.

Harry Kane anytime assist

Harry Kane has finally found his form in the Premier League following a difficult start to the season. The England captain has scored seven and assisted six in his last nine Premier League games, setting up his teammates five times in his last three league outings.

His resurgence in form has been a key factor in Tottenham’s newfound consistency and he will continue to be hugely important over the last seven games of the season. Kane averages 1.4 key passes per league game – only Son Heung-Min and Dejan Kulusevski have a better average – and can help unlock the Brighton defence on Saturday afternoon.

Over 4.5 Brighton corners

Brighton and Spurs both win and concede a similar number of corner kicks. Albion average 5.55 corners per game and concede 5.42 per game, while Tottenham win 5.13 and concede 5.03. Spurs have conceded 25 corners in their last five league games at an average of exactly five per game and are likely to match that average against a Brighton side that have won 33 corners in their last five league outings at an average of 6.5 per game.

Brighton won six corners in their 2-0 defeat to Spurs last month and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them win a similar amount on Saturday.

Brighton to be shown more cards

Brighton boast one of the worst disciplinary records in the league. Potter’s side have collected 62 yellow cards and two straight reds 31 league games, with only Everton, Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Leeds boasting worse disciplinary records.

Brighton average two yellow cards per game and have received 15 in their last six games.

They are likely to be shown more cards than a Tottenham side that boasts a superior disciplinary record of 53 yellows and one red card in 31 league games. In their last six league games, Spurs have been shown 10 yellow cards.

It is highly probable that Spurs will dominate proceedings on Saturday and by extension, they are less likely to commit fouls worthy of yellow cards.
