Saturday night’s football has us pouring over the stats from some of the best fixtures on offer in our quest to find value in the markets.

In Italy, Juventus can close the gap on the Top 3 with an away win over Cagliari while in France, Ligue 1 leaders PSG visit a Clermont side playing for their skins.

At the top of La Liga, Real Madrid welcome Getafe to the Santiago Bernabeu and in Portugal second-placed Sporting can cut the gap on Porto to just three points with an away win over Tondela.

19:45 Cagliari vs Juventus: Juventus to Win and Over 1.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 1

Cagliari are just three points above the relegation zone and could well be in the drop zone after the weekend if other results don’t go their way. Their form is atrocious having lost four of their last five in the Serie A, winning the other one. On home turf they’ve won one, drawn two and lost two and have lost nine of their previous 10 clashes against Juve at the Unipol Domus.

The visitors have won three of their last five fixtures, losing the other two. Away from home they’re enjoying a run of six games undefeated in all competitions while in the league the Old Lady have now gone nine Serie A away games without losing, winning three and drawing two of their last five.

The away side are in decent goal-scoring nick too, scoring nine over their last five in the league and 11 over their last five away games. They’ve scored at least two in their last eight visits to this ground. With the hosts in such bad form we can only see that trend continuing; Juventus to Win and Over 1.5 Goals is our first pick.

20:00 Clermont vs PSG: Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 3

Clermont are in 17th, just a single point above St Etienne at the time of writing but will no doubt be fired up for their first ever home match against the Parisians in league football. Saying that however, they’re in awful form, losing four of their last five and drawing the other one.

On home soil things are only slightly better with one win, one draw and three losses but they’ll take some solace from PSG’s own shaky form. Mauricio Potchettino’s motley crew of superstars have won just two of their last five fixtures in all competitions, losing the other three, while their away Ligue 1 form has seen them losing three in-a-row, winning one and drawing one.

The visitors have only kept one clean sheet over their last 10 away league clashes and for all of the home side’s difficulties, they’ve actually scored at least one in six of their last eight at home. PSG should have more than enough to come out on top here, especially since they’ve scored 11 over their last five league matches, but the hosts can do some damage to a defensive line low on confidence. We’re backing Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals here.

20:00 Real Madrid vs Getafe: Karim Benzema to Score & Real to Win

TV: Premier Sports 2/La Liga TV

Real will still be flying high after their 3-1 demolition of Chelsea in their midweek Champions League clash. Meanwhile, they’re enjoying a run of seven wins and just one defeat over their last eight games in all competitions. Their La Liga form has seen them winning four and losing one while at the Bernabeu they’ve won three, drawn one and lost one. They’ve beaten Getafe here in all of their last 10 La Liga meetings and scored at least two goals in all of those victories.

The away side have won just one of their last five in the league, drawing three and losing one while away from home they’ve drawn three and lost two of their last five. There’s little doubt Los Blancos will win here but we have to look at the form of their star striker Karim Benzema. The Frenchman has 37 goals to his name this season over his 36 appearances in all competitions and 10 over his last five alone. With those stats we have to back him to score here bundled with Real to Win.

20:30 Tondela vs Sporting Lisbon: Sporting to Win & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: DAZN

Sporting are massive favourites to win here and cut the ground on Porto above them to just three points. The Leoes are undefeated over their last five games in all competitions, winning four and drawing one while their league stats have seen them winning seven and drawing two of their last nine. On the road, they’ve won four and drawn two over their last six in the league.

Tondela are third from bottom in the relegation playoff place and their form isn’t exactly great with just one win over their last five in the league, drawing two and losing two while at home they have lost three and drawn two. The visitors don’t keep many clean sheets on the road, just one over their last five away in the league while the hosts have scored in five of their last six on home turf. Saying that, Sporting have scored at least two in eight of their last 10 in the league so we’re getting some very nice value here in backing Sporting to Win & Over 2.5 Goals.
