West Ham welcome Lyon to the London Stadium on Thursday night for the first leg of their Europa League Quarter-Final. Both sides are a tad inconsistent of late but, no doubt will be eager to get one foot into the Semi-Final with a victory here.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

We’ve gone deep into the form here to find a four-fold Bet Builder that’s stuffed with value. Let’s have a look at what we’ve uncovered in the stats.

Both Teams to Score

West Ham’s recent goal-scoring record is quite strong with the Irons scoring at least one in 10 of their last 12 matches in all competitions. On home soil they’ve chalked up at least one in 13 of their last 14 at the London Stadium and it’s rather difficult to imagine them not getting at least one here with the chance of a Europa League Semi-Final on the line.

Lyon have scored at least one in four of their last five fixtures and in their Europa League matches this season have scored at least one goal in all eight of their matches. With those records, Both Teams to Score has some pretty decent value here.

West Ham to Win

The Hammers have won two of their last five matches in all competitions, drawing one, winning it in Extra Time and losing two. At home their form is very good with four wins and two draws over their last six (winning one of those draws in ET). Lyon have won two of their last five fixtures, drawing two and losing one and their away record shares the same stats.

Lyon have failed to score in two of their last five away games and in the other three only scored a goal in two of them. Comparing that record to West Ham; the home side hold a clear advantage as they’ve scored at least two goals in seven of their last 10 on home turf and got at least one in all 10. With the better goal-scoring record we’re siding with the Hammers to take an advantage into the return leg next week.

Jarrod Bowen to Score Anytime

After missing out the last Europa League game against Sevilla through injury, Jarrod Bowen got back on the scoresheet against Everton over the weekend. The former Hull forward has netted eight over his last 12 games in a West Ham shirt and with Said Benrahma playing as the central playmaker and setting up through balls for Bowen on the right wing, Pablo Fornals on the left and Michail Antonio up top we see plenty of traffic going through Bowen here.

He’s in the better form of all of West Ham’s attacking players and his price to get on the scoresheet at any time represents some very good value so he has to make our Bet Builder.

Jerome Boateng to be Booked Anytime

At 33 Jerome Boateng isn’t over the hill yet, but the German international has never been known for his speed and against a lightning fast, counter-attacking West Ham he could be in for a torrid time. Over his 17 league starts for Les Gones he’s picked up five yellow cards which isn’t too bad for a central defender although if you compare that to say Liverpool Virgil van Dijk he has just three over his 46 games for club and country this season.

Fair enough, comparing Boateng to van Dijk is a bit chalky and cheesy but Boateng was once at the heart of a very stingy Bayern Munich defence. Anyway, the former Bavarian also has two over his pair of Europa League appearances this season and with the likes of Antonio, Fornals and Bowen bearing down on him at full speed we can see him picking up a yellow card against the Claret and Blues here.
