There are some big names involved too: Barcelona visit Germany to take on Eintracht Frankfurt and Sporting Braga entertain Rangers in Portugal while Leicester and Marseille host PSV and PAOK respectively.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Finally, Italy’s Roma visit Norway to make amends for their 6-1 defeat at the hands of Bodo/Glimt earlier in the season. Let’s have a look then at some value picks from the 8pm kick-offs.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Barcelona: Barcelona to Win and Over 1.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport Extra 1

Eintracht Frankfurt welcome Barcelona to the Waldstadion for their Europa League Quarter-Final on Thursday night and will no doubt be feeling the nerves. While the home side are unbeaten over their last six in all competitions, winning three and drawing three, they face a Barca side who are unbeaten over their last 13, winning 10 and drawing three. At home Die Adler have won just one of their last five competitive games, drawing two and losing two and only managed to score in two of those five games.

Barcelona have kept four clean sheets over their last five fixtures and are enjoying a run of winning five games on the bounce. The Catalan side have also scored at least two goals in all five of those away games and with the home side struggling for goals we’re getting decent value here in backing Barcelona to Win and Over 1.5 Goals.

Sporting Braga vs Rangers: Both Teams to Score

TV: BT Sport 2

Braga come into their Europa League Quarter-Final first leg against Rangers as favourites but both teams are in fairly robust form. The home side have won three of their last five fixtures, drawing and losing one apiece while at home have won two, drawn two (winning one on penalties) and losing one. Rangers have won three and lost two of their last five while their away form has seen them win three, draw one and lose one. While the difference in quality of the leagues would certainly have Braga above Rangers it’s worth pointing out that in the UEFA coefficient rankings for European teams Rangers are 38th with Braga standing at 39th.

Of course it’s also worth mentioning that Rangers have seen off Borussia Dortmund, Red Star Belgrade and drawn with Lyon already over their Europa League campaign while Braga have had a fairly easy run other than a 2-1 aggregate win over France’s Monaco. Both sides have scored six and eight goals over their last five respective home/away games and while we think Rangers could edge this the smarter money goes on Both Teams scoring here.

Leicester vs PSV: Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 3

Leicester face PSV in the first leg of their Europa Conference League Quarter-Final with the Foxes currently priced at Evens to take the victory in the first leg. Brendan Rodgers’ side aren’t exactly in mighty form, winning two, drawing one and losing two over their five most previous fixtures but their home form is very good with just one loss over their last 10 matches played there. Over their five most recent, they’ve won four and drawn one, scoring 11 and conceding four with Over 2.5 Goals and BTTS occurring in three of them.

PSV are unbeaten over their last 13 games, winning three and drawing two of their last five while their away excursions show them winning four and drawing one, scoring a very healthy 12 and conceding five. With both teams enjoying such goal-scoring stats the best option here is Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals at some very generous odds considering the above stats.

Marseille vs PAOK: Both Teams to Score

TV: BT Sport Extra 2

Marseille are short-odds favourites to take the advantage in the first leg here. The French side have won all five of their most recent fixtures while on home soil have won three and lost two. PAOK’s form is decent though it must be said, winning four and losing one of their last five with their away form reads as three wins, one draw and one loss.

It’s worth highlighting here that the hosts have only kept one clean sheet over their last 11 home clashes while the visitors have scored in 11 of their last 13 on the road. The odds for BTTS, still above Evens at the time of writing, offer some mighty value especially with the home side’s leaky defence.

Bodo/Glimt vs AS Roma: Roma to Win

TV: BT Sport Extra 3

Bodo/Glimt welcome Roma back to the Aspmyra Stadion for the second time this season, you might recall the Norwegian side absolutely smashing Jose Mourinho’s men 6-1 in late October in the Group Stage of the competition. Since that game Roma have played 30 competitive fixtures, losing just seven and they’ll be chomping at the proverbial to get some revenge here and set the record straight.

Bodo have won three of their last five fixtures, drawing the other two while at home share the same record. Roma are unbeaten over their last nine in all competitions, also winning three and drawing two of their last five and yes, share the same record over their last five on the road. While the hosts have nothing to fear here the visitors have shored up their defence of late, conceding just two goals over their last seven fixtures and have kept three clean sheets over their last five away games. Roma’s form has improved so much since their previous  defeat here that we have to side with I Giallorossi on their return.
