This Sunday sees the latest instalment of one of football’s oldest and fiercest rivalries as Rangers and Celtic square off at Ibrox. The hosts come into the third Old Firm derby of the season knowing that a win would take them level on points at the top of the table.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
The Hoops, meanwhile, will be hoping for a repeat of their 3-0 win in the reverse fixture back in February which would put some light between themselves and their old enemy. It’s always one of the fieriest clashes on the calendar and, just for good measure, we’ve thrown a huge four-way Bet Builder into the mix!

Match result: Draw
Rangers have responded reasonably well since losing the lead in the Scottish title race with that 3-0 defeat at Celtic Park in early February. The Scottish champions have won five of their last seven league games since that Celtic defeat, taking 17 points from a possible 21.
They have also recorded hugely impressive results against Borussia Dortmund and Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League. Celtic have had no such joy in Europe, crashing out against Bodo/Glimt in the Conference League, but they have taken a hugely impressive 31 points from a possible 33 since the turn of the year to establish a three-point lead at the top of the table.
They have lost their last four games at Ibrox and stand a good chance of bringing that run to an end, but they could slip to a second draw of 2022.
Both teams to score? Yes
Celtic and Rangers unsurprisingly boast the best defensive and attacking records in Scotland. Celtic have score 69 goals compared to Rangers 62, while Rangers have conceded 25 goals compared to Celtic’s 18. Both sides have scored an average of at least two goals per game, and have also conceded an average of far less than one goal per game. Something has to give on Sunday.
Despite their decent defensive record, Rangers have been far less convincing than they were last season when they conceded just 13 goals in 38 games. They have already conceded double that figure this season and will struggle to contain a rampant Celtic attack on Sunday.
Celtic, on the other hand, have conceded the vast majority of their goals this season away from home, with 14 of the 18 goals they have conceded coming away from Celtic Park. They are likely to concede against a Rangers side that has scored 33 times in 16 games at Ibrox this season.

Giorgos Giakoumakis to score anytime
Giorgos Giakoumakis endured a slow start to life at Celtic Park, scoring just one league goal in the first four months of the season. However, he has emerged as one of Celtic’s main goal threats in 2022, scoring seven times in six league starts since the turn of the year.
Giakoumakis scored a hat-trick in Celtic’s last game before the international break as the league leaders ran out 4-0 winners against Ross County at Celtic Park. The Greek striker can score in back-to-back Scottish league games for the first time if he scores at Ibrox on Sunday and he looks good value to do so.
Kemar Roofe to score anytime
With Alfredo Morelos and Fashion Sakala major doubts for Sunday’s Old Firm, the bulk of the goalscoring burden falls on the shoulders of Kemar Roofe. He’s scored seven league goals for Rangers this season, with only Morelos scoring more.
He scored his first league goal since December 1st when he popped up with a later winner in Rangers’ 1-0 win over Aberdeen at the beginning of March. Starting opportunities have been few and far between for Roofe of late, but the doubts over Morelos and Sakala give him a good chance of starting on Sunday.
Even if he is denied a starting role on Sunday, his record off the bench is quite impressive, with five of his seven league goals coming as a substitute.
