England came from behind to secure an impressive friendly win over Switzerland on Saturday evening and Gareth Southgate’s side can continue their World Cup preparations with another victory against Ivory Coast on Tuesday.
The Ivorians narrowly missed out on World Cup qualification themselves, losing 1-0 to Cameroon in a winner-takes-all clash last November, while they were denied a credible draw in France last weekend by a last-gasp Aurélien Tchouaméni winner.
The hosts are expected to get the job done in Tuesday’s tussle, and we’ve dug out a four-leg Bet Builder for the Wembley showdown.

The visitors will be no pushovers at Wembley on Tuesday, but England should have too much for them. The Three Lions are unbeaten on home soil since a defeat to Denmark in the Nations League in October 2020, winning 13 of their last 16 games in England.
They have also won their last nine home friendlies in a run stretching back to a 1-1 draw with Italy before the 2018 World Cup. There is little chance of that run coming to an end on Tuesday and England should get over the line.
Both Teams to Score
England conceded the fewest goals at Euro 2020 and recorded a hugely impressive seven clean sheets in 10 games during the World Cup qualifying campaign, but we’re backing them to concede for the second successive friendly on Tuesday night.
Southgate’s side conceded in three of their four games against Hungary and Poland during World Cup qualification who, in all reality, were the only teams of any standard in England’s group.
They face an Ivorian outfit that has scored in eight of its last ten games, only failing to score in that crucial qualifier against Cameroon and in their penalty shootout defeat to Egypt at this year’s African Cup of Nations. In other words, they have only failed to score in games that really matter.
They have had no trouble scoring in the less meaningful games and should find some joy against what is likely to be an experimental England defence.

Harry Kane Anytime Goalscorer
Harry Kane’s penalty against Switzerland saw him draw level with Bobby Charlton in the all-time England goalscoring charts and few would bet against him overtaking the Manchester United legend on Tuesday. Kane endured a difficult start to the season for Tottenham but is starting to hit top form at just the right time as they bid for European football.
However, his form for England has never been in doubt.
Kane has scored 13 goals in his last 12 internationals, only failing to find the back of the net in three of those games.
He is by far the most likely English player to get on the scoresheet on Tuesday and represents good value at almost even money.
Conor Gallagher Anytime Assist
Conor Gallagher marked his first England start with an assist against Switzerland, setting up Luke Shaw for England’s leveller. The Crystal Palace midfielder has been in excellent form this season, scoring eight goals and creating three in an incredibly productive loan spell.
Gallagher averages 1.4 key passes per game in the Premier League this season and has created the second-highest number of big chances of any Crystal Palace player. He can help unlock an Ivory Coast defence that has kept just two clean sheets in its last six games.
