While the top flight leagues around Europe grind to a halt for an international break you’d be forgiven for sighing a groan of regret, especially with title races heating up across the continent. However, where there’s football being played there’s value to be found and we’ve dug into the best of the fixtures on Tuesday night, looking at the English and Scottish games in particular, and found a very feisty four-fold that will tide us over until the internationals come around later in the week.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

19:05 Dunfermline vs Partick Thistle: Draw

On the face of it, Dunfermline’s days of Championship football look numbered but survival is still possible. Just six points separate them from Ayr United, who sit just above the drop zone, and a win here would do their survival hopes the power of good. Their form, though, isn’t great with three draws and two losses over their last five league clashes. They’re struggling at home, too, with just one win, three draws and one loss, scoring just three and conceding five.

Partick have won two, drawn one and lost two over their last five in the league but their away form has been rather frustrating. On their travels, they’ve lost one and drawn four of their last five, scoring seven and conceding eight. Both teams have proven difficult to beat of late and with seven draws over their last 10 combined home/away games we have to go with the value here and back a Draw.

19:45 Plymouth vs Cheltenham: Plymouth to Win

Plymouth can cut the distance on second-placed Wigan Athletic to just five points with a win at home to Cheltenham. They’re odds-on favourites and are in mighty form having won eight of their last 10 in League One. They’ve won their last five on the bounce while at Home Park they’ve won four and lost one, scoring nine and conceding just one.

The Robins are in decent overall form with three wins and two losses over their last five. However, on the road they’ve won just one, drawing three and losing one. They’ve been in good goal-scoring form, though, netting 11 over those five, conceding 11 as well. While Plymouth’s defence has really stepped up of late, we can’t dismiss the away side’s record of goals on the road so while you can get a better price for Plymouth to Win to Nil we’re sticking with a traditional Plymouth to Win here.

19:45 Oldham vs Sutton: Under 2.5 Goals

Oldham can drag themselves out of the relegation zone with a win here, albeit only on goal difference. Sutton, in ninth on 58 points, have the play-off places in their sights, but their form of late has been letting them down.

The Latics have been in awful form, drawing one and losing four of their last five League Two fixtures. On home soil things are a bit better with two wins, one draw and two losses. Sutton have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five in the league. However, their away form is lacking with one win, one draw and three losses. We’ve only seen Over 2.5 goals in two of their last five home league games and in just one of Sutton’s last five on their league travels. The price for Unders is making flirty eyes at us here and with those stats it’s offering the best value.

19:45 Port Vale vs Exeter City: Over 2.5 Goals

Plenty to play for in this one as Port Vale can get themselves back in the playoff positions while Exeter can close Forest Green Rovers’ lead at the top of League Two to just two points with a win. Both sides are in pretty decent form with the Valiants winning three of their last five in the league, drawing one and losing one. Meanwhile, at Vale Park, they’re unbeaten over their last six in the league, winning four and drawing two.

Of their last five in the league, Exeter have won three, drawn one and lost one and share the same record over their last five on the road. The home side have a strong goals record, though, scoring 10 over their last five at home while the visitors have scored five over their last five on their travels. We should then see both scoring here but both sides are good enough to beat the other based on recent form so we’re expecting to see at least three goals. We’re backing Overs for a very healthy price here.
