Liverpool FC legend and Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson is backing Antonio Conte’s Tottenham to inflict greater misery on his old foes Manchester United after last weekend’s abject loss in the Manchester derby. Thommo thinks in-form Harry Kane will add to his 10 goals in the League this season against a United defence that shipped four goals last time out.

United host Spurs at Old Trafford in Saturday night’s main event, at 5.30pm. So, with both sides able to inflict a dent in the other’s Champions League qualification hopes, Thommo gives his take on the action. Here’s his Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur tips.
Saturday 5.30pm: Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
Spurs have been up and down, if you look at the two sides you’d probably say that Manchester United have been on the better run. They lost to Manchester City but they were unbeaten in eight before that.
But what’s happened since, and the criticism that’s come from all angles, it’s not good for the camp and they’ve lost just two of the last 16 league games, Manchester United. It doesn’t feel like that, does it?
I’m leaning towards Spurs for this but if you look at their last six, it was a big win against Everton. If you look at the first half I don’t think Spurs actually played very well.
Everton were dreadful defensively. But the last six results for Spurs, this should get Manchester United fans up, it’s been lost, won, lost, won, lost, won… what comes after a win?
So, Manchester United fans will be hoping for that but I’m not going that way! I am going for a Spurs Win. They’ll sit back, even against Everton at 3-0 up, they sat back and hit them on the break.

Manchester United, at home, will have to go for it, and I think that will play into Spurs’ hands. Harry Kane’s been superb when he links up with Son Heung-min, I just think it’s great.
They understand each other so much. I do expect Both Teams to Score and I’m going for Spurs to Win 2-1. I’ve also got Harry Kane to Score at Anytime.
