Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson never needs any rest and rotation and he’s back in the hot seat ahead of Thursday’s televised FA Cup clash. This time it’s his old friends Everton taking on non-league side Boreham Wood.

The Toffees are in rank form and they’re right in the Premier League relegation mire. The last thing they need is a potential upset against a National League side. Can The Wood do it? Here’s Thommo’s Everton v Boreham Wood tips.

Boreham Wood are 3rd in the National League and won at the weekend, 1-0 against Eastleigh at home. They’ve had plenty of time to prepare but you can’t look beyond Everton for this one.
Everton have been up and down, it’s been a rollercoaster ride for Frank Lampard. They lost 1-0 to Manchester City at the weekend and they gave a good display, but they will still be ruing the handball.
How it wasn’t given is beyond me. Absolutely beyond me! They’ve already lost 14 games in the Premier League which is quite astonishing. They’ve lost six of the last nine at Goodison Park.
This should be comfortable for Everton and they will start the best team that they have available. I do think Richarlison to Score Anytime is a good bet. Everton will go strong. Lampard, if he can get a trophy then he will be the king of Goodison Park.
I’ll go with 4-0 to Everton. I think there’ll be plenty of goals in this. People might say it should be five of six, but I think at 4-0 when they get that far ahead Lampard will make changes to rest some players.
