For Saturday’s European action we’re taking a statistical look at three offerings from Serie A where Fiorentina can strongarm their way into the Serie A European places, Ligue Un leaders PSG host relegation-threatened St Etienne in Paris and in La Liga, Atletico Madrid face a Celta Vigo side who have gone unbeaten over their last five games.

19.45: Sassuolo vs Fiorentina – Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals
Sassuolo’s form has taken a dip of late, winning just one of their last five fixtures in all competitions. The share the same record over their five most previous games in the league, drawing two and losing two and also, share the same record over their last five Serie A games at the Citta del Tricolore, scoring seven, conceding 11 with Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 goals landing in four of those five encounters.
Fiorentina have won three of their last five in all competitions, drawing one and losing one and their away Serie A form has seen them winning two, drawing two and losing one, scoring seven and conceding nine with BTTS landing in four of those five and Over 2.5 goals occurring in three. With both teams in robust goal-scoring form we should see both getting on the scoresheet here but both are scoring enough to take the three points here but seeing a fair amount of draws in their respective stats is putting us off picking a winner. Combining BTTS and Overs has landed in four of their last five meetings here and with both teams scoring plenty of late we’re going for it to land here again.
20.00: PSG vs St Etienne – PSG to Win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0
PSG continue their romp towards yet another Ligue Un title. After 25 games they’re sitting pretty at the summit on 59 points and have only lost two league games so far this campaign. The Parisians have won four of their last five in the league, losing the other one, keeping three clean sheets over those five. On home turf in the league they’ve won 14 of their last 15 fixtures and of their last five have won four and drawn one, scoring nine and conceding none.
St Etienne are 16th on 22 points with all four of the teams beneath them on 21 points, all having played 25 games. Their overall league form is decent with three wins, one draw and one loss while on their league jaunts have won two and lost three, scoring just three goals over those five games, conceding five. PSG to Win to Nil is an option here, especially with them keeping clean sheets and the visitors struggling for goals, however, with four of their last six home victories in all competitions they’ve won them by either 1-0 or 2-0 so we’re going with the value here and backing PSG to Win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0.

20.00: Atletico Madrid v Celta Vigo – Atletico to Win to Nil
Atletico will be somewhat licking their wounds after drawing 1-1 with Manchester United midweek in the Champions League. The hosts should really have had the game to bed but United rallied in the last 20 minutes and rescued a point. The Madrid side find themselves on 42 points, in the Europa League places and have won two of their last five in all competitions, drawing one and losing two. Their home La Liga form is decent though with three wins and two losses, scoring 10 and conceding eight.
As mentioned earlier Celta Vigo are unbeaten over their last five in the league but on their away games have won just one of their last five, drawing three and losing two, scoring four and conceding three. The home side are obvious favourites here and have beaten the visitors in four of their last six face offs at the Metropolitano, four of those six saw the visitors coming away scoreless and with them struggling for goals on their travels of late, Atletico to Win to Nil has the best value here.
