Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson would probably love nothing more than for Norwich to stun Manchester City on Saturday night and breathe fresh life into the Premier League title race. However, Phil is a realist and, as much as he’d love a result to suit his beloved Liverpool, he can only see one winner here.
No prizes for guessing which way our captain’s swaying in this match, but can our man find some value in Paddy’s markets? Of course he can. Settle in, here’s Thommo’s Norwich v Manchester City tips.
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
I do remember Norwich beating Manchester City 3-2 at Carrow Road in the recent past but I don’t think it’s going to happen this time. When Norwich won it was the early part of the season.
Manchester City are just flying. They’re unbeaten in 14 Premier League games, winning 13 of them. They’re unbeaten in 11 away, winning nine of them. So City, whether they’re at home or away, they’re absolutely a flying machine.
Norwich are unbeaten in three Premier League games, winning two of them, so them and Newcastle are starting to make a bit of improvement but they’re the lowest scorers in English football with 14 goals. Can they worry Manchester City who have the best defensive record in the Premier League? I don’t think so.
Norwich have the worse defence with 46 goals. I’m seeing this as a comfortable Manchester City win 3-0. Riyad Mahrez has scored in his last seven appearances, scoring eight goals in that time, so he is on a hot one. I’m going for Mahrez to Score Anytime.
