Sunday rolls around once more, but before he make our packed lunches and scuttle off to bed, ruing the brevity of the weekend, there’s a load of football to enjoy and some big games at that. Barcelona are in action in La Liga while AC Milan and Juventus go at it in a mouth watering clash in Serie A.

AFCON bursts into the knockout stages with Vuvuzelas blaring while French giants Paris St-Germain tackle Remis who have relegation worries. I think I’ve found some super value to make up a fiery four fold for Sunday night. Let’s check out the selections.

7pm: Nigeria v Tunisia – Nigeria Win & Under 2.5 Goals

TV: Sky Sports Mix

Group D winners Nigeria face Tunisia who limped to 3rd in Group F of AFCON in the second last 16 clash to get the ball rolling for us on Sunday night. Tunisia came into the Africa Cup of Nations in great form and as one of the favourites but, in the end, they needed a best 3rd-placed team slot to progress after finishing behind Mali and Gambia.

Nigeria, on the other hand, have looked imperious on their way to a perfect three wins from three games which saw them finish above, and beat, Mo Salah’s Egypt among others. As such, Nigeria are Paddy’s favourites and you’ll get absolutely no complaints from me in that department.

In terms of a bet for this one I think Nigeria to Win and Under 2.5 Goals might be the way to go. We have to be on Nigeria, given the respective results so far, and we can bolt some value on with the Unders. Under 2.5 Goals has clicked in four of these two’s combined six AFCON matches and there’s nothing to indicate it won’t happen again.

7.45pm: AC Milan v Juventus – Over 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport 3

To Serie A now for a heavyweight clash between AC Milan in 2nd and Juventus in 5th. Juve are really on the charge now after a slow start while Milan are stuttering a little which could prove costly in this toing and froing Italian title race.

Juventus are undefeated in eight Serie A matches, winning six of those, while Milan have lost two of their last five including a shock reversal at home to Spezia last time out. They’ve won the other three, though.

This is a really tough match to call and I think all three results are very much in play. Juventus would be my slight favourites given the two club’s recent form but I just can’t discount Milan.

Instead I’ll side with Over 2.5 Goals. It’s clicked in all four of Milan’s most recent domestic matches but just one of The Old Lady’s. We’ve been just one goal short of passing this mark in seven of Juventus’ last eight so I’m hoping Milan can help tip us over the edge.

7.45pm: Paris St-Germain v Remis – Under 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport ESPN

To a really one-sided affair in France where champions elect PSG host Remis who sit in 14th. The Paris super club are 11 points clear at the top of the table while their visitors on Sunday are seven points clear of the drop zone.

The tricky thing here is that while PSG are huge favourites, their form has been pretty poor considering the playing staff and resources they have at their disposal, especially when compared against the rest of the league.

PSG have drawn four of their last six Ligue 1 matches which is, frankly, an absolutely shocking return while winning the other two. Remis have won three of their last six, drawing two and losing last time out. I think the value might in in the Overs/Unders market again.

The last time a Ligue 1 match involving PSG had Over 2.5 Goals was seven games ago. It’s the same for Remis with Over 1.5 Goals only landing twice. They love to keep it tight and that will certainly not change in this game. Anything can happen if PSG’s galaxy of stars align but the numbers are pointing emphatically towards Under 2.5 Goals.

8pm: Alaves v Barcelona – Barcelona Win & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: Premier Sports 1 and LaLigaTV

We finish off in Spain where Alaves host the once-mighty Barcelona in what looks set to be a one-sided affair in favour of the Catalans. Alaves are down in 19th and their last win came 10 matches ago. Since then they’ve drawn four and lost five.

Barcelona have been a bit up and down and have two wins, three draws and a loss in their last six La Liga games. Barca should beat a fairly hapless Alaves who struggle to score but are too short to back in the W-D-W markets.

I’ll take a punt on Barcelona’s own recent struggles in front of goal ending as they run out comfortable winners. I like the look of Barcelona to Win and Over 2.5 Goals. Alaves have scored three goals across their last five games, firing a blank in three of them so they’re probably not going to help much on the goal front.

Unders has landed in Barcelona’s last three La Liga matches but they’ve found some form in the cup competitions of seeing a combined 10 goals for and against across both of their most recent matches. With Barca’s shooting boots firmly back on, and Overs now landing in three of their last four, I think this one has a great chance.
