Saturday night will have us glued to the TV as there’s some fascinating football across some of the best leagues in Europe. Sporting Lisbon can go level with Porto at the top of the Portuguese league with a home win over Braga while in Spain Atletico Madrid’s form could see them fall out of the top four unless they beat a Valencia side who are enjoying some mighty away from.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

In France, Marseille can grab second place from Nice should they beat Lens away from home but first up we have two of Serie A’s highest scoring teams facing off when Lazio take on Atalanta. Let’s find some value bets.

7.45pm: Lazio vs Atalanta – BTTS in the Second Half

TV: BT Sport 3

Lazio needed extra time against Udinese on Tuesday night to see them advance in the Coppa Italia meaning they’ve won just two of their last five, drawing two (winning it in ET) and losing one over their last five in all competitions. Their Serie A form has seen them win three, draw one and lose one. Looking at their home league form, they’ve won two, drawn two and lost one, scoring 13 and conceding 10.

Atalanta have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five in all competitions. Over their five most recent league games they’ve won two, drawn two and lost one but their away form has been outstanding, indeed they’ve not lost away from home in the league yet and of their last five have won four and drawn one, scoring 12 and conceding five.

Both Teams to Score looks a dead cert here but we can squeeze some extra value out of the stats. The hosts have scored 17 and conceded seven in the second half of home league games this season while the travelling side have scored 11 second half goals on their travels. Armed with those stats, we’ve all over BTTS in the Second Half.

8pm: Lens vs Marseille – Over 2.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport Extra 1

Both teams stride into this match in great shape. Lens have won three of their last five, drawing one (winning it on penalties) and losing one. Marseille are unbeaten over their last seven games, winning five and drawing two.

Lens’ home form sees them enjoying a run of six games undefeated, winning four and drawing two, scoring 14, while Marseille are undefeated over their last five on their travels, winning four and drawing one, scoring six. Both teams will be up for this, Marseille can take second place while Lens can move from seventh to fourth and with both in good goal-scoring form here with much to play for. We have to go with Over 2.5 goals.

8pm: Atletico Madrid vs Valencia – BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals

TV: Premier Sports 1 and LaLigaTV

Atletico have now gone three games without a win and a loss here will surely see them fall out of the top four over the weekend. Valencia aren’t exactly in mighty shape either but their away league form has been decent, especially in front of goal. The hosts have won two, drawn one and lost two of their last five while in the league have won just one, drawn one and lost three. At the Wanda Metropolitano things are better, where they’ve won three, drawn one and lost one, scoring nine.

Los Murcielagos have won two of their last five in La Liga, drawing one and losing two while on their league outings they share the same record, scoring eight. We’ve seen some pretty heated exchanges between the clubs of late, three of the last five meetings at both grounds have ended level and four have seen BTTS landing.

With both in good scoring form that should continue, however there’s more to it. Over 2.5 goals has landed in three of Los Colchoneros’ last five on home turf and in four of the away side’s last five away games. We’re getting some great value then in backing BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals.

8.30pm: Sporting Lisbon vs Braga – Sporting Win & Over 1.5 Goals

TV: BT Sport ESPN

Sporting are in incredibly strong league form of late, winning nine of their last 10 games, losing the other one. At home they’ve also won nine of their last 10 fixtures, drawing the other one and over their last five have won all, scoring nine and keeping four clean sheets.

Braga’s form is pretty decent with two wins, one draw and two losses, sharing the same record over their last five on the road. They’ll be confident of getting on the scoresheet here too, scoring eight over their last three league games and have scored in two of their last five visits to the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

The home side’s clean sheets record though is impressive so let’s cover ourselves a little here in case the visitors do score; Sporting have scored at least two in all five of their most recent overall games so we’re backing Sporting to Win and Over 1.5 Goals here which will cover a 2-0, 2-1 and above score lines.
