If you had to pick a time of the week at which you’re at your most grateful, it might well be Sunday around 2pm.
You’ve definitely had a lie-in. If you’d been out the night before, you’ve surely gotten over the worst of it at this stage. You’ve also set your sights on a Sunday roast with a few Yorkshire puddings.
WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!
It’s probably also the last segment of the weekend where you’re not thinking about all the horrific mistakes you’ll have to pick up on Monday morning.
And there’s three Premier League games at 2pm to get stuck into. There’s probably no better way to spend these next two hours than on the edge of your seat with gravy dripping down your chin.

Arsenal v Burnley – Both Teams to Score
I had to stop myself short of handing Burnley a result here. Look, they’ve had their season totally disjointed and their league position is somewhat of a false narrative.
Yes they’ve underperformed and lost their most consistent goal threat, but it’s always been about the sum of the individual parts rather than anything else with them.
However, I just can’t bring myself to stick by them given their amount of postponements. I do believe that Arsenal’s awkward tendencies showed up the other night against Liverpool, where they look great in spells and ultimately get undone.
So I’m taking a punt on them making it hard for themselves as that seems the logical expectation.
Crystal Palace v Liverpool – Liverpool to Win
TV: Sky Sports Premier League
That brings us nicely onto Palace and Liverpool because The Reds are the exact opposite really. They weren’t great in the opening half on Thursday and yet went in ahead and saw the game out with relative ease. Palace is the ultimate sticky fixture for them. A tight pitch minus players who operate best in tight pockets.
But it’s now the mentality issue again whereby we expect them to overcome and backing against them doing so wouldn’t be wise, no matter how semi-functional and apres-Roy Hodgson this unit is beginning to look.

Leicester v Brighton – Over 3.5 Goals
Everyone thought with their 1-0 win over Liverpool at Christmas that Brendan Rodgers would lead his side into being a more compact unit where the chances are more limited but the results more consistent.
So they duly went out and lost in a five-goal thriller to Spurs. Of course.
With sixteen goals in their last four Premier League games, and Brighton prepared to attack rather than just sit back and defend, backing the overs is wise here from two perspectives.
The primary one being that it’s more likely. But also if you take the unders with these two, you’ll be sweating for the majority of the game – and nobody needs that at 2pm on a Sunday.
