For Friday’s football acca we’ve got a great mixture of fixtures to feast our fangs into. We’ll be looking for value in France’s Ligue 1 where second-placed Nice entertain Nantes, Brighton face Crystal Palace in the Premier League (just don’t call it the M or A23 derby, they don’t like that!).

In Germany, Borussia Dortmund can cut the gap on Bayern Munich to three points should they beat Freiburg at home but first up we have Gabon taking on Ghana in the African Cup of Nations.

19.00: Gabon v Ghana – Over 0.5 First Half Goals

Gabon won their opening match against Comoros while Ghana lost their first game to Morocco so Ghana need to take the initiative here and go for broke. The home side here have won two of their last five, drawing one and losing two, while the team playing as the away side here share the same record over their last five fixtures as well.

There’s few goals in both of these sides it must be said and the price for Over 2.5 goals indicates this. The hosts have only scored four goals over their last five games while the Black Stars have only scored three. Something leaped out at us here though regarding First Half goals, there have been four FH goals in the Panthers’ last five games and in four of Ghana’s last five as well. Over 0.5 FH Goals kicks us off here.

19.30: Borussia Dortmund v Freiburg – Dortmund to Win and Over 2.5 Goals

Dortmund have been on the receiving end of two Freiburg beatings over the last two meetings between the sides. Both games however, were played at the Dreisamstadion and BVB have beaten them nine times out of their last 10 visits to the northeast and are heavy favourites to take the three points here. As mentioned earlier, the hosts can cut Bayern’s lead at the top of the Bundesliga but the visitors are having one of their best ever seasons and are just seven points behind the hosts and will be eager to keep their good run going.

The home side have won three, drawn one and lost one over their last five in all competitions while their home league form has seen them winning four of their last five and losing one, scoring 12 and conceding five. The away side have won two, drawn two and lost one over their last five while their away Bundesliga form has seen them winning two, drawing one and losing two, scoring 10 and conceding four. With both teams in great goal-scoring form and plenty to play for we should see goals but Dortmund’s home record should see them coming out on top. Dortmund to Win and Overs has the value here.

20.00: Brighton v Crystal Palace – Both Teams to Score

For much of October and November Brighton really struggled to chalk up wins on the board and were drawing far too many games. Over their last five games things have improved with the Seagulls winning two, drawing two (winning one in Extra Time) and one loss. They’ve also won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five in the league. Looking at their record at the Amex they’ve only won one of their last five, drawing two and losing two.

Palace have won two, drawn one and lost two over their last five in all competitions. Their recent Premier League record shares the same stats while their league excursions have only seen them winning one of their last five, drawing one and losing three. Of course this is a bit of a derby match, well, more like a grudge match and over their last five meetings here both have won two with one ending all square. Both teams have found their scoring boots of late with the hosts scoring seven over their last five in the league and the Eagles scoring 10 over their last five. Brighton could shade it on recent form but all of those home draws are putting us off backing them, Both Teams to Score is the better option here.

20.00: Nice v Nantes – Nice to Win and BTTS

Both teams come into this Ligue Un clash in mighty form. Nice have won four of their last five, losing the other. At home though they’ve only won one of their last five in the league, drawing one and losing three. Nantes have won three and drawn two (winning one on penalties) over their last five in all competitions. Their last five away league games have seen them winning two, drawing one and losing two.

All five of the most recent meetings between the sides at the Stade de Nice have seen BTTS landing and with Nice scoring eight over their last five in all competitions and Nantes scoring five we’re likely to see both teams scoring here. Draws have been in short supply for both sides, Nice have only had four league draws over their 20 games while Nantes have only drawn five of their league games. Armed with those stats, we’re getting some great odds here for BTTS, No Draw.
