Groups E and D get started on Tuesday in the Africa Cup of Nations. Two of the favourites, Algeria and Egypt, are in action with the former beginning their campaign against Sierra Leone while the latter face a stern test against Nigeria.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Also in Group D, Sudan face Guinea Bissau in the later kickoff and both will be eager to take the three points as facing Nigeria and Egypt later will be tougher asks for both. Let’s get into the stats then and find some value bets.

13.00: Algeria v Sierra Leone – Algeria to Win & Over 2.5 Goals

Algeria are massive, massive favourites to win here and with a team packed with both goals and pace there’s little chance they won’t take the three points. They’ve now gone 25 games in all competitions without defeat. Over their last 10 have won six, drawing four (winning two in Extra Time or penalties).

Sierra Leone have only won two of their last 10 games, drawing five and losing three and most worryingly of all have only scored one goal over their last five. The away side here have little option other than to dig in and try and frustrate Algeria, but they’re well used to that and with pacey players like Man City’s Riyad Mahrez and West Ham’s Said Benrahma being at the forefront of Algeria’s attack we only see this going one way.

Knowing they can wrap up qualification before facing Ivory Coast on their final matchday with two wins we can expect the Desert Warriors (mighty nickname) to be going all out here. We’re going with them to win and Over 2.5 goals.

16.00: Nigeria v Egypt – Both Teams to Score

While Egypt boast Mo Salah, Nigeria have plenty of attacking power in the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi and Odion Ighalo and Wilfred Ndidi to stamp some authority over the midfield. However, as we all know Salah is one of the best in the business, and all it takes is a moment of genius for the Liverpool man to shine and take the headlines.

Nigeria have won three of their last five, drawing one and losing one, scoring seven and conceding three. Egypt have won just one of their last five, drawing three (winning one in Extra Time and losing one on penalties) and losing one, scoring nine and conceding three. With both teams in good scoring-from and boasting some top talent it’s difficult not to see both scoring and with the odds still above Evens we have to have a nibble of Both Teams to Score.

19.00: Sudan v Guinea Bissau – Guinea Bissau to Win

Sudan have won none of their last 10 in all competitions, drawing four and losing six and over their last five have lost four and drawn one, scoring just two goals and conceding 13.

Guinea Bissau have won one of their last five, drawing two and losing two. The sides met last September with Guinea winning 2-4 in a World Cup qualifier and with Sudan in such bad form we have to go with the team playing as the away side here.

Africa Cup of Nations tips:

13.00: Algeria v Sierra Leone – Algeria to Win & Over 2.5 Goals
16.00: Nigeria v Egypt – Both Teams to Score
19.00: Sudan v Guinea Bissau – Guinea Bissau to Win
