Monday evening’s football fixtures have a distinctly Iberian flavour. We’ll be looking for value in La Liga where Villarreal will be banking on taking the three points against bottom side Levante. Osasuna entertain Athletic Bilbao in the following game while second-placed Sevilla travel to second-from-bottom Cadiz in our final game. We’ll also be looking at a relegation six-pointer from Portugal when Tondela encounter Moreirense on home turf. Let’s get into the stats and form and find some value bets.

18.00: Villarreal v Levante – Villarreal to Win & Over 2.5 Goals

Villarreal had been enjoying a fine run of form up to the Christmas break, winning all five of their most recent fixtures in all competitions. Their La Liga form has seen them winning three and losing two over their last five while at the Estadio de la Ceramica have won three of their last five, drawing one and losing one, scoring 12 and conceding eight with Over 2.5 goals being witnessed in three of those five.

Levante are in all kinds of trouble, winning just one of their last five in all competitions, drawing one and losing three while in La Liga they’re still waiting on their first win of the season and of their five most recent away games have lost all five, scoring eight and conceding 15, with Overs landing in four of those five games. With the visitors having a healthy enough scoring record they could draw some blood here but the Yellow Submarine’s superior form should see them snatching the points. VIllarreal to Win and Overs has the best value here.

20.00: Osasuna v Athletic Bilbao – Draw

Osasuna have won two, drawn two and lost one of their last five fixtures, Bilbao have only won one of their five most recent fixtures, drawing one and losing three. The home side have been tough to beat at home but their own fans would have to accuse them of dropping too many points from winning positions at the Estadio El Sadar. Of their last five La Liga fixtures there they’ve won just one, drawing three and losing one, scoring five and conceding six.

Los Leones’ away La Liga form is nothing to roar about either, they’ve only won one of their last five on their league outings and of their last five have drawn four and lost one, scoring just two goals and conceding three. Both sides are really struggling of late and while the away side’s lack of goals is a massive problem, the home side have only kept one clean sheet over their last seven at home in the league. There have been seven draws over the sides’ combined last 10 home/away games in the league so we’re backing that trend to continue here.

20.15: Tondela v Moreirense – Tondela to Win

Both sides come into this in rough shape, Tondela have won just one of their last five in all competitions, losing all of the others while Moreirense have also won just one of their last five, drawing one and losing three. The away side have only scored a solitary goal over their last five away league games while the home side have netted eight over the same period on home turf. This won’t be a classic but with the visiting side struggling for scores we’re siding with the hosts.

20.15: Cadiz v Sevilla – Sevilla to Win

Cadiz’ La Liga form has seen them winning none of their last five, drawing two and losing three. At the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla they’ve still yet to win a La Liga game and of their last five have drawn three and lost two, scoring just three goals and conceding eight.

Sevilla stand eight points behind leaders Real Madrid and will be desperate to make up some ground here. Of their last five in the league they’ve won three, drawing one and losing one while on their league jaunts share the same record, scoring just six over those five away games and conceding only three. Seville’s strong defence makes a Win to Nil bet tempting here but Cadiz have scored in all three of their most recent home games so we can’t rule them out here. Sevilla to Win is the better option.
