Paddy Power ambassador Phil Thompson is back and in high spirits as the Premier League passes the half-way mark and starts the charge towards the finish line. It’s already been a season of two halves for Crystal Palace and West Ham who meet in the late game on New Year’s Day.
Both started well but have trailed off a little bit of late, with a combined four wins across their last 16 Premier League games. Both had big victories last time out so will be raring to go here but which way does Thommo see this going? Here’s his Crystal Palace v West Ham tips.
Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League
I expect goals in this one, but not maybe a goal glut. It’s been strange, hasn’t it, with Palace? You look at them on Tuesday they had a fantastic result at home, 3-0 against Norwich.
Look at he stats for these teams, West Ham beat Watford 4-1 last time out, but the two teams have both won just two of their last eight and that’s quite something. I don’t think there’ll be a lot in it.
West Ham, away from home, love to counter-attack. It’s a London derby and I do fancy West Ham to Win – just. Both Teams to Score is in the recent history of this fixture, it’s going to be the same again this time.

I’ll go for West Ham to Win this one 2-1. I think Michail Antonio has got to get back on the scoresheet and get scoring again so I’ll go for Antonio to Score Anytime.
