Saturday night’s accumulator has us checking in on proceedings in Portugal where second-placed Sporting travel to Gil Vicente and they can overtake Porto at the top of the league with a win. All is not well at Atletico Madrid and they face a stern test travelling to Sevilla, who will be eager to cut down the distance between themselves and Real Madrid at the top of the La Liga table. Serie A strugglers Cagliari face Udinese in Italy, but kicking us off we have two huge names in German football, Hamburger taking on Schalke in the Bundesliga II.

HELLO FROM PADDY POWER NEWS!

19:30 Hamburger v Schalke: Hamburger To Win And Both Teams To Score

Both teams come into this clash on 29 points after 17 games. Hamburger’s overall form is slightly better, winning three of their last five in the league compared to Schalke’s recent record of two wins, one draw and two losses. The sides have contrasting home vs away form though, the hosts are unbeaten at home this season in the league and over their last five have won three and drawn two. The visitors have won just one of their last five on their travels, losing three of them. Should we lump on Hamburger then?

No, we can squeeze more value out of it. Of their nine home games this season, the home side have only kept two clean sheets and Schalke have scored in all but one of their eight away games since being relegated. Both are averaging 2.11 and 1.25 goals per home/away game and both should score here, however, the Hamburger’s superior success on home soil should see them taking the three points.

19:45 Cagliari v Udinese: Both Teams To Score

Difficult to see Cagliari clawing their way out of a relegation battle in Serie A at this stage, they’ve won just one of their 17 Serie A games so far, drawing seven and losing nine. At home their record is one win, four draws and four losses. Although, it’s not all bad as they’ve been scoring goals, grabbing 12 over their nine games at home.

Udinese’s form looks rough too, they’ve drawn three and lost two of their last five and on their Serie A excursions have drawn two and lost three. This is the kind of match where you’d nearly bet on both sides to lose.

The away side have been pretty good in front of goal however, scoring seven over their last five on the road and, with Cagliari also scoring seven over their last five at home matched with the fact that Both Teams To Score has landed in nine of their combined last 10 home/away games, Both Teams To Score is the way to go here.

Diego Simeone

20:00 Sevilla v Atletico Madrid: Both Teams To Score

Atletico Madrid could lose their third La Liga game in-a-row here. The last time that happened was in 2011 in the heady days of Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan’s time at the club. Let’s put that nostalgia aside though, because something is up at Atletico. They’ve lost three of their last five in all competitions and even in their wins they’re just not playing well. There is a lack of focus or unity and it seems nobody can quite put their finger on the exact problem.

One obvious problem is facing a Sevilla side who haven’t been beaten at home in the league since last May. Over their last five at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan in the league they’ve won four and drawn one, scoring 12 and conceding five.

The visitors have won just one of their last five away La Liga games, scoring nine and conceding nine. Both sides are averaging 2.57 and 1.88 goals per home/away game and with both scoring and conceding plenty over their five most recent home/away games, we should see both getting on the scoresheet.

20:30 Gil Vicente v Sporting: Both Teams To Score

GIl Vicente’s home form has seen them win just one of their last five in the league, drawing two and losing two. They’ve a decent goals average though, they’ve scored eight over their last five at the Estadio Cidade de Barcelos and have scored 1.57 on average per home league game.

Sporting are obviously in good form. With 38 points from 14 games, only goal difference keeps them off top spot and they’ll be eager to get the points on the board here to overtake Porto for 24 hours at least.

The visitors are averaging 1.83 goals per away game this season, but have kept just two clean sheets over their away games this campaign. Gil’s scoring record, as mentioned above, should see them causing a few problems for the visitors here so we’re going with Both Teams To Score in this one too.
