Tuesday night’s game has been postponed.

Man Utd to Win

Back-to-back wins for Ralf Rangnick in the Premier League without conceding a goal after the narrow 1-0 win at Norwich on Saturday evening.

Rangnick couldn’t have asked for a more favourable fixture list to start life at Old Trafford and simply has to keep winning to have a real chance of finishing in the top four.  Brentford have been on both ends of late drama in their last two league games, firstly conceding a 95th-minute equaliser at Leeds before scoring two late, late goals to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against Watford last Friday night.

It remains to be seen how a reported COVID-19 outbreak will affect United’s squad and preparations, but they should have just about enough to make it four league wins on the bounce.

HELLO FROM PADDY POWER NEWS!

Both Teams to Score

Manchester United may have kept consecutive league clean sheets for the first time since March, but that was as much to do with David De Gea’s brilliance as it was to do with any new innovative defensive tactic. De Gea denied Norwich almost certain goals on several occasions and a more clinical attacking side would have punished United’s defensive frailties on Saturday.

Brentford are statistically almost three times more clinical than Norwich this season, scoring 21 goals to Norwich’s eight, so should fancy their chances of breaching De Gea’s goal. At the other end, Brentford have been leaking goals, keeping just one clean sheet against a hapless Everton side in their last 11 league games.

Even United’s attack, which has failed to click into gear since Rangnick’s arrival, should be capable of adding to Brentford’s defensive woes.

Mason Greenwood to Score Anytime

Mason Greenwood was by far and away United’s best player in last week’s Champions League outing with Young Boys and it was a shock to many that he lost his place in the starting XI against Norwich to an out-of-form Marcus Rashford.

Rashford’s forgettable performances against the Canaries should have opened the door for Greenwood to make his first league start since mid-October. Greenwood has struggled for form since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo after a break-neck start to the season that saw him score three goals in his opening three games.

However, he remains one of the most ruthless finishers at the club and can punish a porous Brentford defence.

Bruno Fernandes to be Shown a Card

Bruno Fernandes, like Mason Greenwood, has struggled for form since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. Granted, he has registered six assists in the Champions League and nine in total, but he had managed that figure at the same point last season while scoring 11 more goals.

It’s almost as if anyone who watched Fernandes and Ronaldo playing together for Portugal could have told you that there would be problems between the pair.

Fernandes’ patchy form has transformed the Portuguese midfielder into a grouchy and irascible figure capable of talking his way into the referee’s notebook when things are not going his way. He has been booked on four occasions for United this season – no United player has been booked more times – and runs the risk of a one-game suspension if he’s not careful.

Brentford, however, are more than capable of frustrating Fernandes, who in turn is more than capable of ending up in the referee’s notebook.
