For Sunday night’s football accumulator, we’re looking towards some big names in Europe who are in action. It’s pretty fair to say that the seasons haven’t been going as well as expected for many of the clubs involved in our acca here, and the pressure is mounting on them to get good results. This usually means there’s going to be plenty of goals, so we should look to exploit that.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
19:45 Bordeaux v Lyon: Both Teams To Score And Over 2.5 Goals
Bordeaux’s form is pretty terrible, over their five most previous league games they’ve only chalked up four points. Lyon’s is a bit better with three wins and two losses over their last five in all competitions.
The away side here have held the upper hand in previous head-to-head meetings, indeed they’ve won three of the last six meetings and the three other ended level. Over the five most previous meetings at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux the home side have won one, the visitors have won two and two ended all square.
As mentioned in our intro though, goals are where to focus. Both Teams to Score has landed in all five of Les Girondins’ previous home league games and in four of Les Gones’ most recent away games. Meanwhile, Over 2.5 Goals has been seen in three of the home side’s five most recent at home and in four of Lyon’s five previous away league games.
19:45 Juventus v Genoa: Juventus To Win & Both Teams To Score
Just when it looks like Juventus have got their game under control, they seem to take great delight in throwing a rather large spanner into the works. Over their five most recent games they played well against Fiorentina, Lazio and Salernitana, winning all three.
However, they then went and shipped five goals away to Chelsea in the Champions League and at home to Atalanta. Genoa’s form is horrific though, it must be said. Il Grifone have won just one Serie A game all season, drawing seven and losing seven.
The Old Lady’s Serie A form at home is a microcosm of their yo-yo season, three wins and two losses over their last five – scoring six and conceding five. The travelling side have lost two and drawn three of their last five on their trips around Italy, scoring five and conceding seven.
It’s worth mentioning here too that over their four most recent meetings at the Allianz Both Teams To Score landed in all four of them. That trend should continue here against a Juve side who are conceding 1.0 goals per home Serie A game. However, even an average Juventus side on an average day should have more than enough for a Genoa outfit this low on confidence.
20:00 Celta Vigo v Valencia: Both Teams To Score & Over 2.5 Goals
Celta have finally found their scoring boots over recent games. In their last three league encounters they’ve managed to chalk up six goals and they’ll be eager to get at Valencia’s porous defence, which has conceded 10 goals over their last five away league encounters.
In previous meetings we can see there’s been plenty of action too and over their last seven meetings here in all competitions, Both Teams To Score has come up a total of six times and Over 2.5 goals has occurred in five.
With the home side finding goal-scoring form at the perfect moment, they should be able to pounce on the visitor’s shaky defence. However, Los Murciélagos have netted seven over their last five in La Liga and have shown through the years they’re well able to get on the scoresheet at the Abanca-Balaídos.
20:30 Braga v Estoril: Both Teams To Score
Unlike the fixtures above, both of these teams are actually in fairly robust shape. Braga have won seven of their last 10 in all competitions, while Estoril, who may be drawing a few too many games, are still unbeaten over their last eight in all competitions. The home side have won this match in four of the last five meetings at the Estádio Municipal de Braga. Three over those five saw BTTS landing, three also saw Overs.
It’s really hard not to see both scoring here. Braga have won three of their last five home league games, scoring 12 and conceding four. For their part, the visitors share the same record – grabbing nine goals and letting in four at the other end. It’s tough enough to separate the two teams here, but with both in goal-scoring form, it’s best to play it safe and go with them both to find the net.
