Saturday night’s alright for… getting stuck into a whole load of top-quality football. We’ve gone through the best of the games on offer for the evening fixtures and found a wee belter of a four-fold accumulator with games from the MLS playoffs, the Serie A, Ligue Un and La Liga. Time to roll up the sleeves then and dive into where we’ve found some value in the markets.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

19:30 Philadelphia Union v New York Red Bulls: Philadelphia Union To Win

Philadelphia Union come into their MLS Playoffs game against the New York Red Bulls as firm favourites. The home side finished second in the Eastern Conference with New York finishing the regular season in seventh. Both teams have won two of their last five league fixtures, drawing two and losing one. However, they have contrasting home vs away form.

At Subaru Park Philadelphia have won all five of their most recent fixtures, keeping four clean sheets in the process. They’ve also scored 10 and conceded just one. Meanwhile, The Red Bulls have won three of their last five, scoring just five and conceding three. Union have only lost one of their last five meetings between the pair at home though, winning three and drawing one which they went on to win in extra time. The home side have the value price thanks to their superior home record and their strong form against the New Yorkers.

19:45 Fiorentina v AC Milan: Milan To Win & Both Teams To Score

Fiorentina’s season has been going a lot better than last season’s effort, but with six victories and six defeats you either get them on a good day or a bad day. According to the form stats, they’re due a win here, however, against Milan that’s going to be a tough ask. Stefano Pioli’s team are still unbeaten in the league, winning 10 and drawing two of their 12 league games – scoring a very healthy 26 goals and conceding 11.

To make things a little tougher, Fiorentina have only beaten Milan once at home over their last six meetings. That victory came all the way back in 2015, since then they’ve lost two and drawn three. At home, Fiorentina have won three and lost two of their last five games, scoring 10 and conceding six. For their part, Milan have won four and drawn one of their last five away Serie A games – scoring 12 and conceding seven. Milan should take the points here, but Fiorentina’s home scoring record is strong.

Xavi Hernandez

20:00 Rennes v Montpellier: Rennes To Win And Over 1.5 Goals

We’ve got fifth are taking on sixth here, with Rennes three points ahead of Montpellier. Both teams are in decent overall form, especially Rennes who are unbeaten over their last 10 in all competitions. Montpellier have won three of their last five, drawing one and losing one. Rennes’ league form has seen them go seven without a loss and at home have won four of their last five, scoring 13 and conceding three.

On their league outings, Montpellier have won just one of their last five on the road, drawing one and losing one. Rennes’ home form is too hard to argue against here and we’re liking the look of Rennes to Win and Over 1.5 Goals.

20:00 Barcelona v Espanyol: Barcelona To Win And Over 1.5 Goals

The Xavi Revolution starts now…maybe. And in a local derby too! Although that won’t phase him. As a player Xavi faced Espanyol 36 times (winning 25 of them) and while he wasn’t the most prolific of goalscorers, he scored six against them, his highest tally against any team.

As bad as Barcelona have been this season their home form is quite good with four wins, two draws and one loss in the league. Over their five most previous games though, they’ve only won one – a 0-1 away win over Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League. Espanyol’s away form is dire though, winning none of their six away games this campaign.

Barca have kept a clean sheet against Espanyol in four of their last five competitive meetings, however, the home side have only kept one blank at the Nou Camp in La Liga this season. Barcelona should get their new manager bounce here, but we want to cover ourselves a bit here in case Espanyol get on the scoresheet.
