We’re a third of the way through this season’s Championship campaign and, as you’d expect, we’re not short on drama or intriguing story lines. From crisis club Derby and their 24th spot thanks to a point deduction and administration to Scott Parker looking to get one over his old club Fulham at the top of the table with his relentless Bournemouth.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

It’s all bubbling up nicely and all of those clubs mentioned are playing on Wednesday night. It should be another cracking round of fixtures and, to celebrate, I’ve compiled a lovely acca for Wednesday night’s Championship action. Let’s get into it.

7.45pm: Blackburn v Fulham – Fulham to Win

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football

Fulham have been building up a head of steam under Marco Silva and trail former boss Parker’s Bournemouth by five points coming into the midweek fixtures. Blackburn are going along nicely as well and they’re just outside the playoffs in 7th.

However, Fulham have now won four on the bounce and five of their last six. Rovers are inconsistent and have won their last two before failing to win in the four prior. Those wins have come against rock-bottom Derby and 16th placed Reading.

I suspect The Cottagers will have too much class for Tony Mowbray (yes, really) and his team. The away side here have beaten West Brom and QPR in recent times so should have enough to take the points courtesy of a Fulham Win.

7.45pm: Bournemouth v Preston – Bournemouth to Win to Nil

TV: Sky Sports App and Sky Sports Red Button

To the only team better than Fulham, Bournemouth. Parker’s side have been quite simply sensational and they’re top of the table with 37 points from 15 unbeaten games and 11 wins. Preston are down in 19th and have improved a little of late but they’re in for a long night on the south coast.

The Cherries have won nine of their last 11, conceding just three times in that run. PNE have won only twice in their last 10, drawing a staggering six and losing two. Their recent improvement (two wins in their last three) have come off the back of better defensive showings but it’s just a case of whether Bournemouth can break them down or not.

And I certainly fancy them to. They’ve scored 18 in their last 10, shipping just three, all in 2-1 wins. Preston have fired a blank in two of their last four and I think we’re getting a very fair price on Bournemouth to Win to Nil.

7.45pm: Cardiff v QPR – QPR to Win

TV: Sky Sports App and Sky Sports Red Button

We’re heading to South Wales next where managerless Cardiff host QPR who have a fantastic record against the Bluebirds over the years. Sticking with this season for now, though, and QPR are 8th with Cardiff just outside the relegation zone in 21st.

Mick McCarthy got the boot following a shocking run of 10 defeats in 11 games. Without him they drew 3-3 against Stoke last time out. QPR have been a little bit shaky of late and have won three of their last six, losing two and also drawing last time out.

Looking back over the last five seasons, QPR have won six of these two’s last eight encounters, including the last three. With Cardiff in abysmal form, without a manager and QPR generally going well, you have to be on the Away Win here.

8pm: West Brom v Hull – West Brom to Win to Nil

TV: Sky Sports App and Sky Sports Red Button

Back to the upper echelons of the second tier for our final pick as Hull travel to West Brom. The Baggies have been faltering a bit of late and are 3rd, falling to four points adrift of Fulham who currently occupy the second automatic promotion spot.

They’ll be looking forward to the visit of 22nd-placed Hull as they aim to get back into their early-season groove. The Tigers are in miserable nick and have won just twice all season, losing their last four.

West Brom have been boom or bust recently, having a win followed by a loss in their last six games. They lost last time out so we’re on for another win here. Hull don’t score very often and have only netted nine times all season, with four of those coming on the opening day. We should see West Brom Win to Nil here if all those many trends continue.
