Wolves to Win

Wolves appear to have been reborn under Bruno Lage after a lacklustre campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo last year. Lage’s side play exciting football and are unfortunate not to find themselves higher up the Premier League table.

They have taken 10 points from their last four games, only dropping points against Leeds last time out courtesy of a last-gasp penalty.

A desperately unlucky start to the season that saw them collect no points from their opening three games despite being the better team in each of those games is the only thing standing between Wolves and the European places at present, and they should fancy their chances against a stuttering Everton side.

Everton’s 5-2 humiliation at home to Watford was the latest in a series of poor results that has seen the Toffees collect just four points from their last five games.

Their only win in that five-game spell was an unconvincing home win against a hapless Norwich that look on trend the emulate the infamous Derby team of 2007/08 and it just feels as though much of the early-season enthusiasm has dissipated. All the momentum appears to be with Wolves, and they should continue their excellent recent form.

Both Teams to Score

Wolves have struggled somewhat at the back despite their good recent form. Lage’s side have conceded in each of their last three games and are yet to keep a clean sheet at home in five games in all competitions.

They have conceded at a rate of exactly one goal in all competitions and face an Everton side that has been scoring frequently despite their bad form.

It feels likely that Wolves will need to score twice if they are to come away with three points on Monday, but they should be emboldened by the fact that Everton have been leaking goals of late.

Rafa Benitez’s side were ripped apart by relegation-threatened Watford last week and suffered a similar fate in a 3-0 thrashing at Aston Villa last month.

Like Wolves, they have kept just two clean sheets all season and will offer plenty of chances at Molineux on Monday.

Hwang Hee-Chan to Score Anytime

Wolves’ biggest struggle this season has been putting the ball in the back of the net, with most of their attacking players fluffing their lines in front of goal on numerous occasions.

Raul Jimenez has only scored one goal after coming back from a severe head injury, while new signing Francisco Trincao and Adama Traore are yet to score despite finding themselves on the edge of several gilt-edged opportunities.

New arrival Hwang Hee-Chan appears to be a remedy to this goalscoring dilemma and has already scored four goals in six appearances for Wolves since swapping Leipzig for Molineux over the summer.

He is clearly Wolves’ biggest attacking threat at present and will cause damage against a porous Everton defence.

Romain Saiss to be Shown a Card

Saiss has picked up the most bookings of any Wolves player so far this season and is arguably the most likely to make his way into the referee’s notebook on Monday night.

The Moroccan defender has collected three bookings in nine games so far this season and averages over a foul a game, making ten fouls in his nine league appearances to date.

He could struggle against a rapid Everton attack featuring Andros Townsend, who is among the ten most-fouled players in the league so far.

He will also have to deal with the threat of Demarai Gray and Richarlison provided the latter makes a return from injury. It wouldn’t be at all surprising if he collected his fourth booking of the season on Monday night.
