I know we’re not quite over the weekend’s action – and Man United fans may never be – but the show must go on. We’ve studied the numbers for Tuesday night’s games across Europe and put together a tasty BTTS acca.

We’ve action from the EFL Cup, League One and Serie A. Let’s see where the value is in the BTTS markets.

19:45: Doncaster Rovers v Cambridge United – BTTS

This League One showdown sees two struggling sides battle it out, which is usually a nice recipe for BTTS. It’s either both teams are so bad there are mistakes that lead to goals, or there’s such a desire to beat a fellow struggler that any game plan goes out the window and your right-back keeps bombing on to leave acres of space for a counter-attack.

Doncaster are fairly decent at home and their 3-2 victory against Cheltenham Town on Saturday was their third win in their last four. We’re confident Doncaster will bag so the attention turns to Cambridge.

The U’s have won just three games all season, however, they almost always score. They’ve failed to net in just one of their 13 fixtures. All five of their away league games has seen BTTS land and we’re hoping that streak continues.

19:45: Wigan Athletic v Lincoln City – BTTS

Next up is high-flying Wigan, who host Lincoln City. The Latics are third in League One, just two points behind Wycombe Wanderers in second. Wigan have scored in every game so far this season so expect that run to continue. However, they’ve had a little wobble at home recently and have lost their last two games, which has led us to back BTTS in this one.

Four of Lincoln’s last five away games has seen both teams score, with their latest coming in a 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend. Wigan have the best defensive record in League One but we fancy Lincoln to nick a goal based on recent form.

19:45: Chelsea v Southampton – BTTS: No

Now we’ve got Premier League leaders Chelsea against strugglers Southampton, this time it’s in the EFL Cup. Thomas Tuchel’s men come into this one on the back of their 7-0 demolition of Norwich on the weekend, so it’s not looking good for the Saints.

Tuchel will make wholesale changes but Chelsea’s B-Team is scarily better than the majority of most Premier League starting XI’s. Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl will also bring in backup players which only hinders their chances of scoring at Stamford Bridge. Southampton’s second-string stars shouldn’t trouble Chelsea so BTTS: No seems a solid selection.

19:45: QPR v Sunderland – BTTS

More EFL Cup action here, where Championship side QPR host League One’s Sunderland. Both sides will likely start their strongest XI’s with a quarter-final place at stake, however, there’s always a chance that a big player could be benched with one eye on the league.

Sunderland are flying in League One, while QPR have impressed and are just outside of the Championship playoff spots. With both sides in good form and keen to progress into the next round, we’re backing BTTS. QPR’s last game in this competition saw them draw 2-2 with Everton before winning 8-7 on penalties – that will do us in this round too!

19:45: AC Milan v Torino – BTTS

Finally, we’re heading over to Italy in search of goals, as AC Milan host Torino. Milan are level on points with Napoli at the top of Serie A, with Stefano Pioli’s side still unbeaten. Scoring goals isn’t a problem for AC Milan and they look likely to bag at the San Siro.

Torino, meanwhile, are mid-table and having a dismally average season so far. However, BTTS has landed in two of their last three league games and we fancy them to snatch a goal on the road.

It’s also worth noting Milan face Jose Mourinho’s Roma on Sunday in Serie A before turning their attention to the Champions League, where they face Porto on November 3. We’re taking a chance that AC Milan will overlook Torino with big games on the horizon, which will see BTTS land.
