15:00 Crystal Palace v Newcastle: Both Teams To Score (No)

Both of these sides are the exact same. You could not get a fixture where two sides have had such a similar season in the final third as Newcastle and Palace, to the point that they’ll likely produce the exact same end result here, one way or the other.

The Eagles and the Magpies (both horrendous nicknames when you pause for a moment aren’t they?) have both netted 10 times this season. Not only that, but they’re within an xG tally of 0.1 of each other too.

Honestly, where would you get it? Both have technically overachieved to some degree on that front, so we take the chance on both cancelling each other out and returning to base.

15:00 Everton v Watford: Both Teams To Score (No)

Ah, Everton. The thing about them is that, no matter how progressive the coaching appointment; no matter how loud the crowd and no matter how big the splash in the transfer market, they’ll ultimately come up short when it seems like they’re right on the cusp of turning the tide.

They’re overshooting their xG tally, and by a decent bit. They’re ahead of sides like Man City in that regard, and Spurs – although that’s less of a surprise. Luckily for them, so are Watford – but largely because their xG total is the lowest in the league.

15:00 Leeds v Wolves: Both Teams To Score (Yes)

Both know they need a win. Both know they deserve a win. And both definitely fancy themselves being better than the other. Even putting the metrics aside here, anything but three points for either of these sides is somewhat of a failure, as they struggle to come to terms with what exactly they’re trying to be.

And when you factor in the metrics? Wolves have a higher xG than Man United and Leicester, and have only scored eight times. Leeds? Also over a goal under their expected total. Expect Warfare!

15:00 Southampton v Burnley: Both Teams To Score (Yes)

Two of the bottom four sides in the league in terms of xG underperformance, it can clearly be seen that the patterns of play these two are putting together are worthy of your attention – they’re just missing a player to net multiple values over their xG expectancy.

With Danny Ings gone and Chris Wood being about as consistent as the last season of Game of Thrones, it’s hard to nail down definites here. But, they can’t keep underperforming at this level, so we hand them both the nod.
