Sunday night sees a bucket load of brilliant football from North, Central and South America with household names and lowly minnows going to war over the just cause of World Cup qualification. USA and Brazil both play and the big boys are in pole position in their respective confederations.

9.30pm: Venezuela v Ecuador – Ecuador to Win
To South America for our first pair of games and we’re shamelessly circling like vultures around the corpse of Venezuela’s disastrous World Cup qualifying campaign. La Vinotinto are rock bottom of South American qualifying with just four points from 10 games. They host Ecuador who have surprised some and are 3rd with a great chance of booking their tickets to Qatar.
They head a tightly-knit bunch battling to finish below Brazil and Argentina and have won two, drawn one and lost one of their last four in this group. Venezuela have lost four on the bounce and, as La Tricolor are going well generally, have plenty to pay for and are fresh off a 3-0 victory, we’re backing the Ecuador Win here.
10pm: Colombia v Brazil – Brazil to Win
TV: Premier Sports 1
Brazil have been a class apart in South American qualifying and sit top of the table with nine wins from nine, 22 scored and just three conceded. Colombia, their opponents on Sunday, have been underwhelming and are struggling to secure a top-four finish and automatic qualification for Qatar.
They’re 5th, two points behind Uruguay as we pass the half-way stage. They’ve drawn four of the last five, winning two matches ago, but we can expect the Selecao bandwagon to keep rolling on. At a price that’s too good to miss, we have to be on Brazil to Win in this one.
11pm: Jamaica v Canada – Canada to Win
Up north for the final two picks and first up it’s Canada heading to the Caribbean to face Jamaica. The Canucks are 3rd in CONCACAF qualifying after just four games and if they were to finish in that position then they’d be heading for a trip to the desert next winter.
Jamaica have been having an absolute nightmare and are rock bottom in 8th with just one point from their four games. Canada have drawn three but that includes very credible results against USA and Mexico. It looks like the visitors here are made of stern stuff and we’re backing them to get three points on the road with a Canada Win.
11pm: Panama v USA – USA to Win & Under 2.5 Goals
USA’s exciting young team top North American qualifying courtesy of goal difference over Mexico heading into this round of games. They’re big favourites to qualify and have made a strong start. For their opponents here, Panama, the dream is still very much alive as well. They’re 4th, just a point behind the Canadians who occupy the final automatic qualification spot.
Make no bones about it, USA should win here. But despite their growing battery of attacking talent they haven’t scored that freely, other than the 4-1 demolition of Honduras. Panama will make it as difficult as they can and it should be low-scoring, so it’s worth backing USA to Win and Under 2.5 Goals at a very appealing price.
