Chelsea v Man City

Betting Tips: BANG IN OUR FINE 29/1 SATURDAY BET BUILDER FOR CHELSEA V MAN CITY
Kick-Off Time: Saturday 12:30
TV Channel: BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate

MAN CITY TO WIN

According to the model, Man City currently sit with a 52% likelihood of winning this match up.

OVER 2.5 GOALS

This is going to be a close one. Man City average 2.32 goals per game. Chelsea, meanwhile, are averaging 1.73 goals per game.

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE IN THE FIRST HALF – YES

You’ve got to back both teams to score in this riot. Half of Chelsea’s goals this season so far have been scored in the first half. For Man City five out of their 11 goals this season have been scored in the first half. That’s got to be worth an informed punt.

JACK GREALISH ANYTIME ASSIST

He’s got one assist so far and he leads the Premier League in xT (Expected Threat – another new-fangled numbery way of saying he creates a lot of goals) with 0.35.

Phil Thompson’s Prediction: “I wouldn’t put anyone off backing The Draw but I fancy Chelsea for this one. They’ve won the last three against Manchester City. It’s telling you maybe they’ve got them. They have improved with Romelu Lukaku.

“I just think Manchester City, with the injury problems that they have, I just think that one shot against Southampton is quite astonishing. I’m going for Chelsea to Win – just.”

Man Utd v Aston Villa

Betting Tips: THOMMO & TRADER’S MAN UTD V ASTON VILLA PREVIEW WITH 6/1 SELECTION
Kick-Off Time: Saturday 12:30

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE – YES

If you look at the two games last season between these teams, Villa scored in both games and the game at Villa Park in particular, Bruno Fernandes got one of the softest penalties I’ve ever seen. For me, the angle I’d pick with that attacking threat that Villa have, especially as they really took it to Chelsea, is Both Teams to Score. I’d rather be on that than the price of Man United to Win which I think is too short.

Phil Thompson’s Prediction: “I think everything’s favouring Manchester United. They did the double over them last season and I’ll go Manchester United to Win to Nil. I think Cristiano Ronaldo might be a bit short and he’s helping boost Bruno Fernandes’ price in the goal scorer markets.

“We’re still a bit unsure who’s going to take the penalties. I’m going Manchester United to Win 2-0.”

Everton v Norwich

Betting Tips: OUR 16/1 BTTS ACCUMULATOR FOR SATURDAY’S PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES
Kick-Off Time: Saturday 15:00

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE – YES

This is the kind of game you want for BBTS accas. The reason being the overachieving side are at home, meaning they’re still likely to score, even if the numbers are projecting a slump.

Leeds v West Ham

Betting Tips: OUR 16/1 BTTS ACCUMULATOR FOR SATURDAY’S PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES
Kick-Off Time: Saturday 15:00

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE – NO

Michail Antonio is an outrageous talent. David Moyes is a very talented manager. West Ham are getting their edge back. But they’re ultimately still due a bit of bad luck. They’re fifth in xG overachievement and Leeds’ xG is a very fair reflection of where they’re at – scoring just half a goal less than they’ve earned.

Leicester v Burnley

Betting Tips: OUR 16/1 BTTS ACCUMULATOR FOR SATURDAY’S PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES
Kick-Off Time: Saturday 15:00

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE – YES

Leicester score at home, so your entire focus should be on Burnley. Again, these aren’t hunches. They’re statistics reflective of a side’s creativity versus their end product. That generally evens itself out during a year, so we can predict peaks and troughs.

Burnley’s three goals this year are less than half of their amassed xG. That means they’re overdue. Leicester’s last two Premier League clean sheets have come against xG darlings Wolves and relegated West Brom. Before that? Bottom side Sheffield United. Before that? Wolves again, and relegated Fulham.

Watford v Newcastle

Betting Tips: OUR 16/1 BTTS ACCUMULATOR FOR SATURDAY’S PREMIER LEAGUE GAMES
Kick-Off Time: Saturday 15:00

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE – NO

Two sides who fail to impress, lack a major striker and who are overachieving against their xG totals. It’s a big no from me. And there’s something quite daunting about expecting anything remotely positive from Watford or Newcastle.

Brentford v Liverpool

Betting Tips: LIVERPOOL TO BATTER BRENTFORD IN THIS BELTING 27/1 BET BUILDER
Kick-Off Time: Saturday 17:30
TV Channel: Sky Sports Main Event & Sky Sports Premier League

HANDICAP BETTING – LIVERPOOL TO WIN -1

Apart from when they’ve been facing the champions of Europe, Liverpool have been pretty unstoppable this season.

They have won four consecutive away games by a three-goal margin for the first time in the history of the club and haven’t been beaten on the road in the Premier League since February.

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE – NO

Where Arsenal wilted and conceded a desperately poor goal to a long throw when they visited Brentford, it’s hard to see a Liverpool defence marshalled by Virgil van Dijk succumbing in the same fashion.

And that’s the real issue for the Bees here: how are they going to score? They’ve found the net just five times across their first five Premier League matches, with a mere two scored in open play.

DIOGO JOTA TO SCORE

After scoring in Liverpool’s opening two matches of the season, Diogo Jota has not found the net since. Yet in those four games he has had chances worth two expected goals, with his miss in the first half against Crystal Palace last weekend probably worth about half of that.

SHOWN A CARD – CHRISTIAN NORGAARD

If you’re partial to a flutter on the card markets then the sight of Stuart Atwell, the referee for this match, will warm your cockles. Aside from everybody’s favourite flamboyant man in black, Mike Dean, Attwell averages more yellow cards per game than any other Premier League ref.

He may have his eye on Brentford’s defensive midfielder Christian Norgaard from the start. The Dane has been shown three yellow cards in his last seven appearances for club and country, including one only a minute after coming on as a substitute for his national side.

Phil Thompson’s Prediction: “Liverpool have scored six of their 12 goals from set plays which is an interesting angle. So, I’m going for Both Teams To Score in this game. I think Liverpool will Win 2-1 and Sadio Mane to Score Anytime.”

Southampton v Wolves

Betting Tips: THOMMO & OUR TRADER’S 4 BEST BETS FOR SOUTHAMPTON V WOLVES
Kick-Off Time:
Sunday 14:00
TV Channel: Sky Sports Main Event & Sky Sports Premier League

Phil Thompson’s Prediction: “It was such a stone-wall penalty from Kyle Walker against Southampton last weekend that it was absolutely amazing that that wasn’t given. But, it will feel like a win for Southampton because they’ve got no win in five Premier League games which is not very good. All told, no win in their last seven.

“They’ve conceded six Premier League goals and they’ve all been in the second half of games which is quite interesting. They will feel good but they’ve drawn their last four Premier League games. It’s not looking great for Saints but there are green shoots from last week’s game.

“I went for Wolves last week and they did let me down. They’ve had 82 attempts at goal, only Liverpool and Man City have had more so their finishing has been absolutely shocking.

“Raul Jimenez has had three in his last three against Southampton so he’s maybe worth a bet. He’s had a shocking start on the goal-scoring front. I’m on Southampton to Win this one.”

Arsenal v Tottenham

DRAW

Well it may well be the boring pick, but the draw is a big runner in this fixture. Four of the last seven Premier League meetings at The Emirates between these sides has ended in a stalemate. With both managers under pressure already this early in the season, if the game is poised at 1-1 with 15 to 20 minutes left, I wouldn’t expect either to gung-ho all-out attack for the win.

SHOWN A CARD – SERGIO REGUILON

He hasn’t been booked yet this season, but in what I expect to be a feisty affair Sergio Reguilon could be in line for a booking up against Bukayo Saka. The England star is likely to be the player who takes the game to Tottenham and will be direct and full of running for the 90 minutes. Expect him to get the better of Reguilon on a couple of occasions which might leave the Spaniard with no other choice than to take a cynical foul and make his way into Craig Pawson’s notebook.

SON-HEUNG MIN TO HAVE 1 OR MORE SHOTS ON TARGET

He’s averaged 3.12 shots per game in the league so far this season and with Harry Kane dropping deeper and deeper, he can link up with Son for one of those devastating counter-attacks we were accustomed to seeing last season.

4/7
Son Heung-Min Player To Have 1 Or More Shots On Target

THOMAS PARTEY TO HAVE 1 OR MORE SHOTS ON TARGET

Partey made his way back into the starting XI for Arsenal last weekend against Burnley and the defensive midfielder attempted three shots from distance. He went close against Wimbledon during the week in the Carabao Cup too, so has shown he is not afraid to have a go from distance, and at the prices, he’s got to be worth getting in this Bet Builder!

Phil Thompson’s Prediction: “Spurs were doing so well and they’re now languishing down in 7th, Arsenal are 13th. I just can’t separate them. Yes, they’ll have all kinds of things to throw in like Harry Kane loves derby matches and he’s the record scorer with 11 in these North London Derbies.

“But I just can’t separate them. What I think is a decent bet is Both Teams To Score. Arsenal have conceded nine this season and six of them have come in the first half so it says they’re slow starters.

“I think they’re the lowest scorers in the Premier League with Norwich and Wolves so I don’t think there’s going to be a lot in this, hence I’m going for a 1-1 score line.”
