It’s the first North London Derby of the season this Sunday and we’ve chosen our strongest team to give you the best chance of pocketing some cash. That’s right, we’ve gone with the deadly duo of Phil Thompson and Jason Murphy.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Paddy Power ambassador Thommo’s expecting a close game while Jason thinks he’s found a potential weakness down Spurs’ right-hand side. Let’s find out where the smart money’s going.

4.30pm: Arsenal v Tottenham

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

THOMMO

I think this has got a draw written all over it. Spurs were doing so well and they’re now languishing down in 7th, Arsenal are 13th. I just can’t separate them. Yes, they’ll have all kinds of things to throw in like Harry Kane loves derby matches and he’s the record scorer with 11 in these North London Derbies.

But I just can’t separate them. What I think is a decent bet is Both Teams To Score. Arsenal have conceded nine this season and six of them have come in the first half so it says they’re slow starters.

I think they’re the lowest scorers in the Premier League with Norwich and Wolves so I don’t think there’s going to be a lot in this, hence I’m going for a 1-1 score line.

I’ve got Bukayo Saka down as an Anytime Scorer here. The big thing for Arsenal fans is that they’re unbeaten in 10 in this game at home. I just can’t split them. I think the two of them are average at best at the moment.

JASON

When I looked at the match prices, I wanted to side with Arsenal, but I can’t at that price. They are the team moving in the right direction. I have serious concerns about Spurs.

I thought Nuno Espirito Santo would improve them defensively but offensively I’m not sure if he’s going to get much more out of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

Nuno Espirito Santo

We have a market here called betting Without the Big Six but I’m not sure we’re going to be able to offer it next year because it’s getting very ambiguous who those big six are! In terms of a best bet for this game the best I can give you is Kieran Tierney or Bukayo Saka Anytime Assist.

Tierney will be playing left-back and Saka is likely to be playing left of the three behind the striker and they’re going to have a field day down that side. If you look at the Spurs v Arsenal game last season you had Matt Doherty playing at right-back for Tottenham and Tierney and Emile Smith-Rowe were over that side, that’s how they got one of the goals. They had so much joy down that side.

Arsenal are very good coming down the left-hand side and who’s been playing on the right for Spurs? Emerson Royal. He got the run-around against Palace by Wilfried Zaha. Both Teams to Score is worth a look. I can see Spurs pickpocketing Arsenal trying to play out at the back and with the likes of Kane about he’ll finish it.
