We’ve got ourselves a proper heavyweight contest in Serie A on Sunday evening, as AC Milan and Lazio are set to trade blows in what promises to be an intriguing contest at the San Siro. These sides have already proved that they are more than capable of landing knockout blows this season, as both approach this game with 100 per cent records in the league.
Stefano Poli’s men kicked off their campaign with a fine 1-0 away success at Sampdoria, before taking apart Caligari 4-1 in their opening home match as big Olivier Giroud bagged a brace for his new club.

Meanwhile, their opponents on Sunday have also had a perfect start to the new term. Lazio top the shop in Italy heading into this game week thanks to emphatic 3-1 and 6-1 victories over Empoli and Spezia respectively. But, will someone’s ‘0’ go on Sunday?
Not for us, as there isn’t really much between these two giants of Italian football lately, and their last 10 meetings have produced three wins apiece, as well as four draws. With both teams in sparkling form ahead of this clash, don’t be surprised if they cancel each other out.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?

Given they way these clubs have began the season, goals almost seem like a given here. As you can see from what we’ve mentioned above, Milan netted five times already this season, while Lazio have plundered a whopping nine goals in their two games to date.
Interestingly, despite the visitor’s impressive start to the season, they have shown themselves to be vulnerable early on in games and they have gifted opening goals to their opposition inside the first five minutes of both of their Serie A outings. Milan were also guilty of sleeping at the back in their home meeting with Caligari, so don’t be surprised to see the net ripple often in this one. By the way, if you need some more convincing, this bet has landed the last five times these clubs have squared off.
Booking Odds: Under 40 points
Given Lazio were often seen as the bad guys of Italian football, you’ll be surprised to learn that they could be described as utter choirboys this term. Under the tutelage of former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri, they have been hugely disciplined, only picking up a single yellow card (10 points) in their opening two games.
In fairness, Milan have nearly been as good at staying on the right side of referees and for their part, they have only had a pair of bookings (20 points) so far in Serie A. While we expect this contest on Sunday to be a little more combative than their games so far, we reckon both sides will stay in Daniele Chiffi’s good books long enough not to take us over 40 points on Sunday.
Ciro Immobile To Score Anytime
There was a reason we didn’t mention who did the damage in the hiding Lazio handed out to Spezia last time out, and that’s because we were saving it for this paragraph! Italian sensation Ciro Immobile has shown no hangover from his participation in his country’s run to the Euro 2020 final in the summer and has exploded out of the blocks this season.
The veteran sticker nailed a penalty against Empoli, and he added to that by banging in a hat-trick at the Stadio Olimpico against a shell-shocked Spezia. We fancy him to add to his total on Sunday, especially as he is on spot-kick duty for Sarri’s men too. Oh, just to mention, a penalty has been awarded in five of the last 10 games between Milan and Lazio when AC have been at home, and there also has been a spot-kick in Lazio’s last four league games.
