Our Friday night accumulator has a bit of an eclectic look about it. First up, we’ll be looking at the opening game from the Women’s Super League where Manchester United are hosting Reading. Then to one of the best ties in Friday’s round of Under-21 European qualification matches as Spain will be taking on Russia.

Finally, we’re off to the Irish Premier Division where two of the top three are in action. League leaders Shamrock Rovers are away to Finn Harps and Sligo Rovers are also on the road to face off with Drogheda. Let’s have a look then for some value bets.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

19:45 Man United Women v Reading Women: Man United Women To Win & Both Teams To Score

Man United begin their season under a bit of a cloud. Manager Casey Stone has departed for San Diego even though her side only missed out on Champions League qualification by a single point last season, and a few fan-favourites have left the squad too.

However, United have had a busy transfer window and Marc Skinners looks to have invested pretty well. United only lost one home game last season, winning eight and drawing two over their 11 matches in total. Reading were pretty handy on the road last season though, winning three, drawing four and losing four and they’ve beaten United twice over their last three visits to Manchester.

Reading have bolstered their attack with the signing of former Arsenal forward Danielle Carter and they averaged 1.27 goals per away league game last season. The Royals have nothing to fear here and with that good record against United over recent years we can see them getting on the scoreline here.

However, United are the stronger side and their new signings will be eager to impress, so they should get at least a couple of goals to win the game.

19:45 Spain U21 v Russia U21: Both Teams to Score (No)

Spain are massive favourites to win here. They had a pretty decent Under-21s Euro during the summer, getting to the semi-finals before being eliminated by Portugal. They had won two and drawn two (winning one in extra-time) of their earlier games in the tournament. Russia didn’t make it further than the Group Stage, where they won one and lost two of their three matches.

The sides haven’t met since 2013, so obviously none of the same players are still in the squads, but Spain’s home form will definitely be a factor. Of their last 10 games on home soil, they’ve won nine and lost just one.

Eight of those games saw Over 2.5 goals and they kept six clean sheets. The Spaniards haven’t played since the summer tournament. Russia have played two friendly matches, winning one and drawing one but their away from prior to the summer competition saw them winning just two of their last five matches – failing to score in two of those games. With Spain’s strong defence, we can’t see Russia netting here at all.

Stephen Bradley

19:45 Drogheda United v Sligo Rovers: Under 2.5 Goals

Both teams are in pretty rough shape here, The Drogs have only won one of their last five fixtures in all competitions. Meanwhile, Sligo have lost all five of their most recent games. Looking at Premier Division form only, Drogheda have won one of their last five on home turf with Sligo winning one, drawing one and losing three on their travels.

Only five goals have been scored over the three most recent meetings between the sides at United Park and this won’t be a classic either. This looks to have Unders written all over it, a bet that would have landed in seven of their last 10 combined home/away games.

20:00 Finn Harps v Shamrock Rovers: Rovers To Win & Over 2.5 Goals

Finn Harps are in fine fettle of late, they’ve won four of their last five in all competitions. Rovers have only won two of their last five, but on the road, in the league, Stephen Bradley‘s men have won four and lost one of their last five.

Finn Harps’ home league record isn’t great with one win over their last five, but they have been scoring though and they’ve hit the net at least once in four of those five. Rovers have conceded in five of their last seven on their league excursions and while they do usually keep Finn Harps quiet in these fixtures, the home side are in decent goal-scoring form.
