Ah, Monday night football. How we’ve missed you. To celebrate your return, Paddy ambassador and Liverpool legend Phil Thompson has teamed up with our football trader Brian McDonnell to deliver the definitive verdict on the big game.

NEW TO PADDY POWER?

This week it’s West Ham hosting an injury-ravaged Leicester at 8pm in a game that looks hard to call. Our prestigious pundits are split on the result but both are expecting goals. Here’s the lads’ verdicts.

8pm: West Ham v Leicester

THOMMO: This is probably the game of the weekend. I know people will say Arsenal v Chelsea, but Chelsea could walk that one. These teams are so close. They both had good wins last week. Yes, I know Leicester only just beat Wolves by the odd goal with Jamie Vardy on the scoresheet.

Monday 8pm: West Ham v Everton
Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

But what about West Ham? My goodness. What a side they are. Said Benrahma looks as though he might get more of a chance this season. He can score goals. Tomas Soucek, what a signing he’s been. He scored last week.

I said in my predictions last week that if anybody fancied an outside bet between Newcastle and West Ham it would be for Antonio and Callum Wilson to score. Both of them came up trumps. I think this is so tight, it really is. I am going for an absolute Desmond on this. Desmond, for anyone who doesn’t know, is 2-2.

I’m also going to go for Michail Antonio to Score Anytime and Jamie Vardy to Score Anytime.

Jamie Vardy Leicester

BRIAN: Leicester, if you look at their two games this season they’ve been two narrow 1-0 wins. I do think they were fortunate enough to keep a clean sheet in both of those games. Man City, in the Community Shield, had a whole host of chances and even Wolves last week at the King Power had more chances as well.

They do have a lot of injuries in the backline, Leicester, so I do see there being goals in this one as well. Wesley Fofana is out, Timothy Castagne is out, Ryan Bertrand is out, James Justin and Nampalys Mendy are both out. I think there’s a doubt about James Maddison as well.

I think West Ham are actually going to win this one. I think they’re just going to shade it. I think both teams might score but West Ham just to shade this one, for me.

Best Bets for Monday night
